"Ecosse Guesthouse" is not reliable anymore like the 'Shed' was.
The boss is usually away and let the place be ran by an unexperienced staff.
The 'Friday Familly Bar' should remind you ith the good time ;-)

so its still here

Post by H2ODunc »

So its still here and hasnt been deleted. Why the jumping on the OP then which to me is worse than having the post deleted. Nothing I notice about HHAD striving to ensure that sponsors play the game and coming down hard on sponsors who mislead. If that was meant to reassure people that things are fair then it failed miserably. I realise that HHAD has now become a business first and forum second but it is still a forum.

Do you really think this is the way the world works? A medium would come hard down on one of the advertisers?
A silly word that; sponsor, when they actually are advertisers. And HHAD is a medium selling advertising space
to advertisers.

It is not the job of HHAD to ensure the standards and Ye Truth of the advertiser's message. It's up to us,
the forum members, to let the other members know our opinion* of the value and quality of services in each
and every venue to which we give our custom and our ill-gotten monies. This does not only include "sponsors",
but also other venues, be they sponsors or not on HHAD.

So far HHAD has let us voice our lamentations without partiality, let or hindrance. Good work, HHAD!

*yes, just our opinion, not Ye Truth.

As was said by two others last night, show us where in this thread any of the mods have "jumped on the OP"? It simply hasn't happened.
A couple of the comments could maybe be construed as being being a bit harsh, but this is a forum, after all, as you point out.
There have been threads on HHAD in the past where a guest has critisised the establishment they stayed in and we've let it run - sponsor or not. In some instances, the proprietor has replied on the forum and said they'd do something about the complaints.
If that isn't an example of a forum working for the general good, then I don't know what is.
If this thread, or any other, had been deleted, how would you, or anyone else have known about it?

As stated above, it is not our responsibility to ensure that our advertisers are up to our readers' standards, all we do is provide a platform for debate and opinion, its as simple as that. If we were as biased as you seem to think we would not be having this conversation and you would no longer be a member.

Suggest you read the disclaimer and the terms and conditions again if you have any problems with this website.

The "Ecosse Guesthouse" has been topnotch for me - as a daily breakfaster and evening drinker. In fact, all its owner incarnations - as far back as "Barry" (Barrie? Berry?) have always been hospitable and sociable propriators. And the staff has been excellent as well. Just my experience.

This is supposed to be an open forum where people can post of their experiences in HH. It is getting to be more of a club for long term expats wth businesses to promote and pat each other on the back. …Stop the scorn, and rather childish replies and maybe stand back and look at how it looks from the other persons perspective.
H20Dunc, it could be that any childish replies were motivated more by an afternoon spent in the pub rather than any favoritism in the promotion of the Hua Hin Guest House industry. I speak only for myself in this regard.
