yes usual suspect, I remember you saying you arrived the day before me, the woman that always sorts our taxis and we rent cars off says no major problems just a little slower and that seems to be consistant with what the kind people on the forum are saying.

I get to airport at 7am so including collecting bags etc im hoping to be in Hua Hin and in the pool for 12pm.

We will give her a bell at manchester airport before boarding which will be 16 hours roughly before arrival so should be fairly accurate.

Good luck and hope you have a problem free run down.

I will call in your bar during my stay to say hello and have a couple of wets with you.

Rama II 'will be navigable'

Floodwater will continue to rise at Rama II Rd about 5-7 days and stabilise.

It will rise to the level of Rama II road and will submerge the road in some sections but small cars can navigate.

Froc tries to expedite waterflow to Khlong Mahachai's water retention area.

It would take about 2 weeks before Soi 69 can see receding water due to its low-lying area nature.

He also talked about artificial floodway, initiated by the private sector to help drain more water into the canals system.
The lowest level of Rama II will be submerged about 10-20cm level.
The highest peak flood at Rama II will be between end of this week to end of next week before stabilising.

Is there any sign of the Bangkok/HH rail link being fully restored yet?

We just got into (Central) Bangkok from Hua Hin, and the roads were dry the entire way. we saw a little light flooding around Rama II, but nothing on the main road itself. Traffic was a bit heavier than normal, but that only meant the trip took 2.5 hours instead of 2.

Same for me. Took us 3 1/2 hours including pit stop for dinner plus a short detour on a wrong turn where Ikea is located. Left The airport BKK around 17h took no 7 towards Bangkok, then no 9 south towards Bang-Na, then towards Rama II, then no 35, then no 4. No water seen. Some traffic jam towards Rama II but always moving at 40 to 80 kmh.

Good for you that the roads where empty of water, but where did you go?
The Rama lX bridge and Chaloem Maha Expressway or the Bang Na At Narong Expressway and then over to Bang Phli-Suk Sawat Expressway? ( Outer ring road).
According to maps and informations the Rama ll Road have flooded the area around Rama ll soi 69 and 27-11.
Maybe that's not the truth?

Many Areas of Bangkok See Water Receding

The floodwater has receded in many areas of Bangkok, and some main roads are now accessible for small vehicles.

The water level at Ladprao Intersection has lowered significantly, and traffic has resumed as usual on Rama II Road.

According to the latest report on the flood situation at Ladprao Intersection, the water has been receding continuously, but each end of the intersection overpass is still flooded.

At any rate, the area is now accessible by small vehicles, with the exception of outbound Vibhavadi Rangsit Road which is still severely flooded.

There is a slowdown of traffic in front of the Central Ladprao Shopping Mall.

The water was measured earlier in this area at 10 to 30 centimeters.

Meanwhile, the section of Phaholyothin Road from this area to Ratchayothin Intersection is getting drier.

Only some parts remain flooded as the water is flowing into the sewers.

At Soi 48, the water has lowered by only a little, and the area is still inaccessible for small vehicles.

There have been no reports of floodwater on Rama II Road from Soi 1 to 69.

However the inbound route, from Soi 68 to 70, is deluged by the water seeping out from a sewer near the road.

The water level was measured at between 5 to 10 centimeter yesterday.

After a sandbag flood wall was placed around the sewer, the water level has dropped to only about 2-3 centimeters.

The water on Krungthep Kritha Road has receded to about 15 to 20 centimeters and is now accessible for some vehicles. On Songprapa Road in front of Don Muang Temple, the water has been measured at 55 centimeters.

On Petchkasem Road, from The Mall Bang Kae Shopping Center to Puttamonthon Sai 4 Road, the floodwater remains at about 50 to 60 centimeters and is still inaccessible for small cars.

Meanwhile, the water at Kanjanapisek Road, near Sao Thong Hin Temple is still between 30 to 40 centimeters high, and only raised trucks can pass through this area.

Strangely enough, I received a report today that the Bang Na Chon Buri Xpressway / Burapha Withi Expressway/ Maha Nakhon expressway across Rama lX bridge was dry.
This is the normal route between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Hua Hin.

As the outer ringroad has been dry all the time i don't care much about that route, but is it true that it's possible to drive to Suvarnabhumi via the Rama lX bridge?

I took the normal route from Hua Hin to Suvarnabhami Airport on Friday morning.
All roads open, no sign of any water, straight run in just under 3 hours.
