I know what you mean Randy, I was actually stunned by the concept that someone would write a review for an electric kettle, as I’ve never come across one that didn’t simply boil water when you plugged it in.
I now find that there is a whole new world of monotony previously unknown to me and just the site linked above has four pages of kettle reviews!

Thought I'd let you all see my kettle. (actually mine is white) Ain't she a beauty, boils up a real treat. Real easy to turn on and off and sports a super sexy flex, which has been hidden for modesty reasons.

She utilises a full base heating plate as oppose to an element type which as you all know takes slightly longer to boil. Meaning I am supping my brew before too long.

There is also a handy light in the on/off switch in case Ive forgotten which state she's in. She has clear panels built into the side which let me easily see how much water is available to boil. Brilliant!!!

Sometimes I just boil her up for the sheer hell of it...
