^^ We occasionally see them here, but not as often as in years gone by. I remember trying to catch one that came in the house. It climbed all over and in and out of the furniture.

Hopefully the nests will be OK. The wood swallows have at least one hatchling. Also there's a bulbul nest (haven't been able to look in it yet) in the garden that would be an easy job for a snake.

The bulbul nest had two eggs until something trashed the nest. Probably a snake as there were no egg remains anywhere near the nest.

However, the wood swallows raised 3 offspring. Both parents fed them until the last of the fledglings finally left the nest area a few days ago.

Sad story. A couple of weeks ago we found this juvenile bee-eater on the ground, unable to fly. It was unable to properly fold its right wing.

We took it to an animal hospital, where an x-ray showed the wing bone was broken adjacent to the shoulder. The vet strapped the wing up as best as possible and we left the vet with the bird in the box that we brought it in. 5 minutes later we arrived at a pet shop to buy food for it but when we checked the bird again it was dead. Possibly the trauma of treatment killed it.

A bit of a long shot this, and I'm not expecting much of a response. A very small image on my dashcam (even walks behind a stream of water on my windscreen to make it harder. However, you guys have amazed me in the past.

There's been a little 'almost' white bird flying near our house for about a week now. I can't remember seeing a bird with such whitish features before - any ideas?

Could be a little cormorant, member of the cormorant family of seabirds.

I thought it might be, but couldn't find any cormorants with that coloration in my bird book. But, I'm sure that must be it given the way the bird is perched and the excellent location for fishing.

There is an agricultural pond near our condo where a cormorant hangs out almost every day. I love to see it there.

I was enjoying my evening meal whilst sat beside the river in Chanthaburi this evening, when one of the staff walked over to the fence carrying a bowl of fish bits. He took a stick and banged the fence about 10 times. As if from nowhere a couple of hundred birds appeared in the sky. The guy started throwing the fish bits, and it was amazing the way the birds were diving from quite a height into the river to grab the free food.

They definitely looked like birds of prey. I would have guessed Sea Eagles, but they didn't seem as large as the ones that I see at Khao Tao Lake. They were too fast for me to get a close up shot. Does anybody know what they are?

They had white heads, with that distinctive bird of prey beak, and brown bodies. Sorry, but this is the best photo I could get.

I agree. After never seeing them around, I saw several in Cha Am (at a distance) over the past few months.
