One thing I've wondered about, Pfizer has to be kept at an absurdly low temp of what, about -60c? I can see how that is done during air shipment in special containers, but how are they doing it during distribution and storage at the the various vaccination sites. I also doubt delivery vehicles here can achieve that temperature at all. Moderna may be the same, but I've never read about it.

What happens to the quality of Pfizer if it sits above -60c for xx period of time? Have people been given Pfizer that has lost its effectiveness?

This may answer some of your concerns Pete

COVID-19 Vaccine Pfizer BioNTech
Maximum shelf life is 9 months stored in a freezer at -80°C to -60°C
31 days at 2-8°C after thaw (assign immediately after removing from freezer)
In addition, once removed from the fridge may be stored between 2 to 25°C for 2 hours prior to dilution
In addition, once diluted may be stored between 2 to 25°C for a further 6 hours
Once thawed, the vaccine cannot be re-frozen
During storage, minimise exposure to room light, and avoid exposure to direct sunlight and ultraviolet light

The NHS in the UK is reporting that 90% of seriously I’ll patients with Covid are unvaccinated - surely they need to do something about this as their selfish attitude is resulting in people with serious medical conditions (cancer and other diseases) having to miss out on vital treatment because ICU beds are not available.

The totals number of hospitalisations by vaccination status for all age groups between November 1st and November 28th 2021, as confirmed by table 9 of the UKHSA report were as follows –

Not-vaccinated population = 2,355
Partly vaccinated population = 233
Fully vaccinated population = 3,998

/\ Nice try, you forgot to include these notes from Table 9!!!
[These data should be interpreted with caution. See information below in footnote about the correct interpretation
of these figures]
In the context of very high vaccine coverage in the population, even with a highly effective vaccine, it is expected that a large
proportion of cases, hospitalisations and deaths would occur in vaccinated individuals, simply because a larger proportion of the
population are vaccinated than unvaccinated and no vaccine is 100% effective. This is especially true because vaccination has
been prioritised in individuals who are more susceptible or more at risk of severe disease. Individuals in risk groups may also be
more at risk of hospitalisation or death due to non-COVID-19 causes, and thus may be hospitalised or die with COVID-19 rather
than because of COVID-19.

It really doesn't change the fact that more patients are vaccinated. But this amount is not causing the hospitals to be overrun.

From the Bangkok Post at 1430 hours:

....."Heath officials administered 730,201 shots on Saturday. If that number is repeated over the next 24 hours, the country will fall short of the 100-million-dose goal."......

It's the usual blaming of a crap health service on the unvaccinated. So nearly 90% of adults in the UK have had two doses of a vaccine and they still can't cope?
