I cannot agree with another poster re Gallas, he lacks a lot of capaincy skills, can you imagine Tony Adams of Frank McClintock allowing his players to lose a 2 goal lead with minutes to go? Great goal by Bentley, but goalkeeping mistakes on both sides made for an exciting game for neutrals. Liverpool seem to be an enigma, beating Chelsea and Man U but scraping wins against less fancied teams.
I don't think Arsenal have had a true captain since Patrick Vieira. IMO Henry just scored goals - he didn't lead.

I can just remember Frank McClintock coming to QPR... those were the days

Where do you honestly see you lot finishing this season RZR bearing in mind you havent played any of the other big 4 yet?

You play some great Football but must be frustrating as hell.

realistically, 4th, but as football is so unpredictable, you never know
nobody expected us to be in the title race last year remember :D

our start to the season has been poor, but, 6pts behind liverpool, 3pts behind chelski & possibly 1pt behind the manx (if they win their game in hand) at the beginning of november isn't really that disastrous.

if we had the mentality to close out games when we're winning, we would have possibly been champions last year.
terrific entertaining football, yes! :D but highly frustrating at times too :cuss:
we have 2 top class players to come back from injury in rosicky & eduardo.
problem is, we have a surplus of forwards & attack minded players & what we really need now is a defensive midfielder, plus a top class goalkeeper.
i'm sure wenger will bring them in, but the january sales might just be a bit to late for this season :(

Its the dawn of a new era according to their website.

Hopefully they'll be brought back down to earth with a bump tomorrow.

It's pretty lame bringing out a DVD of a draw no matter what way you look at it.

Their chairman, Daniel Levy was on tv yesterday announcing plans for a new 60,000 seater stadium to be built near WHL, and guess what Dtaai Maai, it will be named after a corporate sponsor, I seem to remember you being ever so slightly critical of Arsenal naming their stadium The Emirates.

The Lidl Stadium doesn't have the same ring to it.

Astonishingly good memory, Arcadian, because it was so long ago I can't find the post!

But as far as I can recall, it wasn't the use of a sponsor's name itself that I was highlighting, but something to do with hypocrisy regarding an Arsenal fan criticising someone else for using a sponsor's name...

You obviously keep meticulous records, so I'm sure you'll correct me if I'm wrong.

I know a lot of this is harmless banter, and frankly I'd watch rugby any day rather than football, but one one of the things that truly disturbs me is the apparent hatred that football seems to stir up. I've said before that I've been a Spurs supporter since I was 9. But I don't 'hate' Arsenal or any other team - on the contrary, if any British team is playing in Europe I back them 100%. I certainly don't care enough to go hunting around the ineternet for ammunition against other teams.

Frankly, in the scheme of things, who really gives a shit? And if so, why?

I absolutely agree with your synopsis dtaai-maai, it was meticulously phrased and I agree 100%.

Apart from Man Utd and Chelsea who I F***ing HATE and want them to lose everytime they play. :guns:

Football is tribal.

No, I was fully focused on Man Utd then.

I had 2 major tension releases this football season. All is good for the foreseeable future.

i think it was more to do with foreign ownerships & that arsenal were one of the few english owned clubs left in the premiership . . . . but . . you pointed out, played at 'the emirates stadium'.

not that it is overly important & you can correct me if i'm wrong :D

Good point Spurs have, and vice versa since 1974.

Chelsea v Liverpool rivalry is new and performance based, real rivalries are based on 26th December and never fade even if you're 3 divisions apart.
