After a little bit of research, it was not what I wanted, and I suspected it was lower specs and cheaper than what I ordered, so I cancelled the order. I am now waiting for the refund, and hoping it will come sooner than later.
Got my refund quickly, so lets try again!

Lazada is falling out of favour pretty quickly for me.

Wanted a large capacity microSD card (we cant buy anything like that locally). On Laz they all appeared to be overpriced (some in the thousands) and had 10-15% extra for shipping. For one 128GB card, the shipping cost was more than the item yet it weighs a couple of grams.

Found a 256GB card on Shoppee for less than half what they were on Laz, and free shipping.

Just an example but I know where my first choice of searching for online items will be from now on.

It's the seller that fixes the price, not Lazada.

You could report the seller to Lazada although they'll probably point out that they have no control of prices.

A 256 gb micro SD card on Lazada is listed at 198 baht and 25 baht shipping. Not sure how that compares.

I agree, Shopee can be more competitive, but I just can't can't get my head around their ordering system. Other people say it is no different from Lazada, with similar options, but whenever I find something I would like to buy, I have to pay in advance, which I don't trust very much here.

My daughter-in-law seems to manage C.O.D. if she's around to order for me, but I just can't get it to work. Is there a secret to C.O.D. on Shopee?

It matters not - if Lazada has become a platform full of expensive sellers that sting you for shipping (which now takes 4-5 days instead of 1-2), then I will seek alternatives.

BB, got COD for this last item which arrived this morning. Shoppee has become increasingly more competitive, there is a lot of free shipping (impossible now on Laz), and its much faster.

Edit: HHTel - I couldn't find a genuine one for under 500, then the shipping was almost 100 (we don't live in Hua Hin). Either way, Shoppee is now my first choice.

I must say, I don't have a problem with the speed Lazada delivers at, but the shipping costs are getting crazy, with 2 of the last 3 items I ordered being in 3 figures. However, on both occasions, the price + 3 figure shipping cost was better than the Shopee price, else I'd have waited for my daughter-in-law to be around.

The last one was a bottle of Dettol, which cost 1,550฿ + 134฿ to ship (of course, still cheaper than buying locally).

Not sure if any of you guys in HH notice it, but deliveries from Lazyda are getting slower and slower. The last two things I've ordered have taken well over a week to arrive.

The opposite is the case with Shoppee with stuff arriving within a day or two. Mrs B (who is a professional shopper) now only uses that.

Last few items from Lazada have typically been 3 days to delivery, eg ordered 1 July, delivered on 4th.

Shopee usually 3 days as well, though one recent item took only 2 days.

Just looking at my last few orders

Order 1 ordered 20th delivered and installed 24th May (86" TV)
Order 2 ordered 4th June delivered 5th.
Order 3 ordered 7th June delivered 10th
Order 4 ordered 8th June delivered 10th (Last 2 orders delivered together)
Order 5 ordered 5th July delivered 7th July

So, no, I haven't seen any delays in delivery.

I think it's luck of the draw. As with others, most things ordered arrives pretty quickly. However, I also think a lot is determined by the choice of courier. There are distinct differences in courier performance, but even that is rarely more than 2 days difference.

The couriers are usually 1 of three: Lex, Kerry or by the seller.

I've not noticed a lot of difference between them.
