I'd like that, too, Terry. Would be nice to see him to add a few more goals to his tally at shite hart lane.

About bloody time - now let's get on with the footy

Re: Premier League 2013-2014
The Spuds signed 3 more players yesterday taking their pre-season spending to just under 105m.
Erik Lamela joined from Roma for 25m,Vlad Chiriches from Steaua Bucharest for 8.5m and also Christian Eriksen from Ajax for 11.5m.
Young Gareth isnt due to have his medical at Real Madrid till Sunday night. What would happen if he failed it due to problems with his ankle !

Re: Premier League 2013-2014
Forgive me if I slip this one in here rather than start a new thread, but did anyone see the Super Cup game last night? It was 1-1 after 90 mins, 2-2 thanks to a Bayern goal in the 121st (out-chelseaing Chelsea) and 5-4 on penalties.
Good game, not much affected by Ramirez being (correctly) sent off after a 2nd yellow card. Not much affected, because Chelsea were already spending most of their time defending (very well, I must say) - they just had to cut back on their breakouts.
Mourinho said after the game that the best team lost. This was not only unsporting, but blatantly untrue. The contrast in styles was interesting, but Bayern's was the attacking game, and if it hadn't been for Cech (although he was to a degree responsible for the 1st Bayern goal), who made more than a handful of fantastic saves in the 2nd half and extra time , they could have lost by a few.
Maybe the best defense lost.

I think the top 4 will finish in that order.
United should get Europa.

Arsenals 'no-hopers' beat Tottenham's all sorts of alleged all stars, 1-0.

Spent money Arsenal £0 vs Tottenham £100.000.000
Match result Arsenal 1 vs Tottenham 0
I just love the gap.

Re: Premier League 2013-2014
Predictable comments about the money spent. So all the Arsenal fans are now quite happy that nobody will agree to go the Emirates?
Anyway, it was a cracking game, though obviously a disappointing result. I'm not too concerned, since most of our team probably said hello for the first time in the dressing room. I think there were a few confused new Spurs players of various nationalities who had just stepped off the plane and had no idea what a North London derby was all about and couldn't understand why everyone was so frantic.
Everyone except the Spurs players until the last 15 minutes, unfortunately!
It's slightly bizarre that our best player by far at the moment is Andros Townsend, who has spent most of the last couple of years on loan or in the reserves!
We've got 2 weeks to sort things out now...

The season is only 3 games old, but it looks like it could be one of the most open leagues in years - choose your team and there's a fair chance they'll still be in the running in 8 months time!!
