That's useful, thanksBig Boy wrote:From what I've read online, if you want Pfizer you need to take a doctors note (no idea what it needs to say), else you will get AZ.
I will pursue this avenue

The cards can always be laminated and will then certainly last until the next covidBig Boy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 7:21 am My fear is whilst I agree that the appointment cart states it is your proof of vaccination, I look at it, and it would be so easy forge. If I think that, then the Thais who are expert copiers will already be making plans to sell them.
The appointment cards are not rugged enough for the purpose, and will start falling apart in a few weeks if people have to use them for this purpose.
Moves are already being made to insist on proof of vaccination. The one close to my heart is football - stadium entry will not be permitted without proof - that one is now written in stone.
Yes, the practicality of a restaurant owner who has been repeatedly strangled for cash over the last 18 months is not going to turn customers away for want of a piece paper is not going to happen in this land where laws are made and immediately ignored.
The penalties for not enforcing the rules could be severe. I now have 7 fully vaccinated relatives (5 in UK), who have caught Covid.
Courage is grace under pressure and when circumstances change you change your mind.

I've considered that, but they will become cumbersome.

In the US, while it varies by state the percentage of vaccinated people being hospitalised or dying is generally well under 1%.
According to the report below, as of August 7 in Massachusetts for example:
https://www.medpagetoday.com/special-re ... ives/939280.18% of fully vaccinated people had a breakthrough infection; 0.009% went to the hospital; and 0.002% died.
As per another report dated August 18:
https://www.healthline.com/health-news/ ... -protectedThe rate of hospitalization among fully vaccinated people with COVID-19 was effectively zero in recent weeks in California, Delaware, D.C., Indiana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Vermont, and Virginia.

Thailand in talks to buy COVID-19 vaccines from European nations
Thailand is in talks with European countries to purchase millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccines, a health official said on Thursday, as the Southeast Asian nation tries to speed up its inoculation rollout to contain a wave of infections.
Authorities in Thailand have been scrambling to shore up vaccine supplies, despite the country being the production hub for AstraZeneca shots in the region.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... rules.htmlBBC presenter Lisa Shaw, 44, died due to incredibly rare blood clot complications caused by AstraZeneca covid vaccine three weeks after she had first jab, coroner rules
presenter Lisa Shaw died due to complications from the AstraZeneca vaccine, a coroner concluded today in what is believed to be the first time a Covid jab has officially been ruled the underlying cause of death in the UK.
The otherwise healthy 44-year-old, who worked for BBC Radio Newcastle, died in May after developing headaches following her first dose of the British-made vaccine.
Coroner Karen Dilks heard Ms Shaw suffered from blood clots in her brain which caused a deadly stroke. She passed away at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle three weeks after the injection.
The inquest, which lasted less than an hour, heard that the condition linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine was extremely rare.
Overall there have been 417 cases of blood clotting after the AstraZeneca vaccine out of nearly 50million doses administered, according to the UK's medical watchdog.

"The inquest, which lasted less than an hour, heard that the condition linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine was extremely rare."
The report that it is 'extremely rare" is not very comforting when it may be you that has the AZ vaccine.
By the time most people have had their 4th or 5th shot, they may have improved the situation.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
It's been shown in subsequent reports that the incidence of blood clotting occurs similarly in both AZ and Pfizer. I think it was first reported in AZ which is why people remember it as being related to AZ.The report that it is 'extremely rare" is not very comforting when it may be you that has the AZ vaccine.
https://www.euronews.com/next/2021/07/2 ... tudy-findsPatients developed blood clotting conditions after receiving the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at a "similar" rate to those who received the Pfizer/BioNTech jab, say researchers.
A team of researchers from Spain, the UK and the Netherlands compared data from over 1.3 million people vaccinated against COVID in Catalonia, looking for evidence of blood clotting conditions that developed after they received their vaccinations.
"In this study including 1,372,213 people vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2, similar safety profiles were seen for both vaccines,"
Crucially, the study authors found that people who had been infected with COVID-19 developed blood clots at a far higher rate than those who had received either of the AstraZeneca or Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines.

Age 42, UK,
Just been offered Pfizer at medpark sat 28th
They kindly moved it forward to 27 as I was in bkk to get AZ anyway but will now get Pfizer.
So it seems it's just Hua hin hospital being slow as hell and other provinces are doing a good job

A bit unfair on HHH. They already did Pfizer jabs on Tuesday. They can only use what they've been allocated.Jose wrote:Age 42, UK,

So the numbers actually being seen in practice so far are far smaller than some of the sensationalist press reports would have us believe.GroveHillWanderer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 4:33 pmIn the US, while it varies by state the percentage of vaccinated people being hospitalised or dying is generally well under 1%.
