Disneyland Thailand in Hua Hin?
Re: Disneyland Thailand in Hua Hin?
I disagree and think there's a good chance this will happen. I'm heavily involved in tourism and know the benefits of what this would mean to the country. There's one thing for sure, it would not just be a Thai fun park as it would bring tourists in from countries all over Asia and beyond. At the moment most tourists who come to HH are Thais as it's still not recognized as a major international destination, contrary to what TAT say. Also, tourists don't particularly like a 3 hour drive from the airport to get there. If a link is opened up to HH airport at any time and marketed accordingly things will change in HH for sure.

Drove past it the other day and looks like it's almost complete.Nereus wrote:Speaking of which: anybody know about the big Ferris Wheel and associated develpoment just North of Cha Am?..............................................or why not just north of Cha-Am, where there is a large concentration of Thai families on holidays.
Pretty sure it's this place - Santorini Park

I told you, three years ago, that this project is some forty kilometres north of Hua-Hin.
I've been watching it evolve for the past five years.
It'll take a few more years yet to be completed but it's past the drawing board stage.
I would suggest that recent reported 'negotiations' are merely concerned with cash flow!!

Well, it is written on the Web site that it is opening on Saturday 24th March, so if it is this place you are talking about it is well past "negotiations".nanyang wrote:I told you, three years ago, that this project is some forty kilometres north of Hua-Hin.

By the sound of it, these are two separate projects - yes the santorini park project just north of cha am is scheduled to open on the 24th March, but nanyang seems to be talking about another projectNereus wrote:Well, it is written on the Web site that it is opening on Saturday 24th March, so if it is this place you are talking about it is well past "negotiations".nanyang wrote:I told you, three years ago, that this project is some forty kilometres north of Hua-Hin.
