Thailand's Vaccine Tracker (Aug. 4, 2021)
.
About 6.17% of the population is fully vaccinated. 14,492,385 (+284,908) people have received the first dose, while 4,085,711 (+94,363) have been fully inoculated.
.
At this rate, Thailand needs to administer 631,806 doses per day within 151 days to reach the herd immunity target by the year's end.

That shouldn't be a problem. They managed it (with a few white lies) for Phuket :run:

They really need to get the compressor driven air injection guns going. I mentioned that before and no idea why this group (generation) hasn't thought of it during this emergency situation in big venues like the train station etc. You can go though 1,000 people in half an hour with 2 guns going. There would be little to no social distancing problem, or waiting problem.

Of course with this population that technique may cause them to run for their lives out of fear.

They don't have enough vaccine to justify that sort of expenditure.

I think the problem is lack of vaccines, not the ability to inject them!!

I would imagine there's a possibility of cross infection if the gun touches multiple persons.

'Invented in China'. Come on. Who wants to be the first to take it?

Fit, healthy 42-year-old father who refused vaccine dies of Covid ‘wishing he had listened

The twin sister of a fitness enthusiast in his forties who died of Covid after refusing to get vaccinated is encouraging those hesitant about getting the jab to reconsider.

He died exactly four weeks after testing positive. He was the fittest, healthiest person I know. He was climbing Welsh mountains and wild camping four weeks before his death”.

She added that his only pre-existing condition “was the belief in his own immortality”.

“He thought if he contracted Covid-19 he would be OK. He thought he would have a mild illness. He didn’t want to put a vaccine on his body.”

“Before he was ventilated he told his consultant that he wished he had been vaccinated. That he wished he had listened”.

Would an 'anti-vaxxer' take heed after reading this? I doubt it!

Well I’m sure some will but probably many won’t, but as this unfortunate person shows, it’s very much a big gamble!!

That guy who unfortunately died reminds me of the idiot that lives in my village. He states that he won't have the vaccine because he believes he's super fit and therefore not "at risk". The dummkopf doesn't take into account as well that he could end up transmitting the virus to others less healthy. "Mein Gott!!" :naughty:

Lingering Side Effects

I know this is going to sound very odd. I had my first AZ just over two weeks ago. Within 12 hours I developed some very annoying side effects. Most of those went away within 24 hours, but two odd ones linger:

• I'm still hungry all the time. I'm hungry when I wake up, after breakfast, before lunch, after lunch, etc. It's very weird. I'm not a big eater so it's a bit strange that I feel like I want to eat all the time.

• I still have what I originally called "fatigue" but is really just sleepiness. Normally I'm sort of hyperactive and keep moving all the time. But now, as soon as I sit down to read or watch TV I start to nod off. This morning my wife finished her shower and came out to the living room where I was watching TV. She took one look and said, "Good night". But, it's not like I'm too tired to do stuff. I can still complete my daily cycling routine (35K last Saturday), work in the garden, etc. It's just that instead of sitting down to relax, I sit down and fall asleep.

Otherwise my health seems normal. Blood oxygen in the high 90s, resting pulse in the 50s. Blood pressure around 120/75. Weight holding steady at 74 kilos (I'm 174cm tall).

I'm not too concerned, but find it to be oddly amusing. In fact, I like to be able to nap in the middle of the day. Next time I take a bus to Bangkok I won't be the only person who is wide awake the entire trip.
