Thanks for the compliment and identifying the flower. I exposed for the highlights (EXIF data shows EV of -2) but blew them out in post processing because decided the image looked better by intensifying the highlights and dropping the lower range into darkness.FatBoy wrote: Spider Lily - Crinum Asiaticum
Actually it fits "rule of thirds" composition rules ideally
Maybe the highlights are blown?
Nice image

^ Yeah, the lock is not centered so I think it follows the rule of thirds!

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: The Thailand Photo Thread
A policeman came over and told me no photos. Big smile from me and asked him if he wanted to see the photo. He did. Used pantomime to explain to him that the length of the white bars was same-same on the barriers but not on the picture. Big smile from him when he got it. Photo taken in HH.

I guess it's like kayaking/canoeing on lakes/ bays, more for exercise and sightseeing??
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
Re: The Thailand Photo Thread
Yes, its easier than it looks, can be as relaxing or extreme as you want it to be (depending on board type and water conditions) - very good for balance also.

Laird Hamilton is the best big wave surfer ever. Here he's playing on a stand up paddle board on a triple overhead wave:buksida wrote:... or extreme as you want it to be (depending on board type and water conditions)
At 3:05 in this vid he stand up paddles into a medium sized wave at Teahupoo, the gnarliest surf spot on the planet.
How gnarly does Teahupoo get? Really f'ing gnarly. Laird doing tow in surfing:

A couple of people have mentioned that they can't upload photos anymore so I'm posting this pic of a lookout we rode to a while back to test it:

Always carry a camera when I'm walking on the beach. Weather was unusual today. The western sky was nothing but blue, creating strong shadows. The wind was a bit onshore, presenting kites being walked along the beach at an attractive angle. Combine those with a tower shadow, some patience and a little luck:
Kite surfer dude like it, saying it makes him look like he has wings.Re: The Thailand Photo Thread
Here's a glimpse of Sukothai, well worth a visit.
