Said I would never watch an F1 but after watching pharvey's recommended documentary, and it being the British grand prix, I thought I'd stick it on for the first few laps or so. Watched a bit of the 'sprint' yesterday too (damn you pharvey *shakes fist*).

Race stopped. Never watched F1 before but I picked a rare interesting moment to watch, it seems. It appears Hamilton is a naughty boy! :tsk: :naughty:

Don't think they're going to salvage much of Verstappen's car! If there were more collisions like this, I could get into F1.

Honestly, I'm never going to watch an F1 race. Just can't stand it. Seems so boring. I'd sooner have a nibble on Susan Boyle's nipples
Just to clarify, me watching a bit of F1 doesn't mean I may now be prone to following through with the latter part of what I said.

Suffered 20 laps after the restart. It's exactly like I expected. No drama. No thrills. No excitement. Just a procession of cars. :|

Hopefully a Hamilton pit-stop with his 10 second penalty might liven things up. I'm actually rooting for Hamilton, surprisingly.

Fingers crossed for something interesting to happen.

What a load of shit.

At least I gave it a go. Initial lap peaked my interest. 37 laps later... :?

Never again.

Turned off to watch The Chase.

WOW - What a finish. Drama at the start - and an incredible chase by Hamilton after his Time Penalty (you watched the wrong "Chase" lost. :neener: ).

Red Bull will bitch about the penalty, Merc will say they shouldn't have had one...... If it was on the other foot, it would have been down to a "Racing Incident" and great driving by Verstappen.

Hats off to Hamilton - incredible drive. :thumb:

[EDIT] Should also mention Leclerc - great drive from him also.

Not gonna lie. I turned it back on when I saw the reports that Hamilton was closing in (about 6 seconds behind when I tuned in again). Thought we'd have a great 1st/2nd place tussle. Nothing of the sort. Hamilton just went by him. Better car.

Apparently, according to the commentators, this was one of the more exciting races.

On a plus note, you F1 fans will never have to put up with me doing lap by lap race commentary on this thread again.

Edit: What I've learned from this, if I was to bother with it again, is to watch the first lap and the last few laps. The middle bit is pointless. :thumb:

I watch most Grand Prix, but let's be honest, many of them turn into a tedious 2-hour procession. This one was a happy exception, always interesting (though I was watching the cricket at the same time...).

I like the way Christian Horner always makes himself available for a few words during the race, but I thought he was a bit OTT with his complaints today - had it been the other way round he'd have been saying it was just a racing incident. (<with hand in the air> "Sir, sir! It was Hamilton sir!!" )

I'm delighted to see Mercedes having to fight for it this year, and I don't much like the celeb Hamilton, but all credit to him for a great drive today.

EDIT: The whisky wasn't wasted...

Totally agree - though I don't like the "Celeb Hamilton", I have to say I've huge respect for the "Driver Hamilton"... :thumb:
