Visa exemption will be cancelled for South Korea, Italy and Hong Kong, the minister said.
I have a good friend who lives in Seoul. He comes over to Thailand regularly as he has property here. I wonder if this will affect him or will he be allowed entry on a technicality as he's British and obviously travels on a British passport.

I think I mentioned before. In its report on SARS, WHO could not identify even ONE case of SARS that had been picked up by Temp checks at airports. Its a gesture.

Surely he would be subject to this: https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... ne-details

Though how he will travel to his self-quarantine site in an isolated manner is unclear.

Something is brewing - of course precautionary at the moment, but the local police have posted their empowerment notice in case of the need for any type of lockdown i.e. 100,000฿ fine and/or 1 year imprisonment.

Russia only had 20 cases of covid-19 as of today so it doesn't seem reasonable to suspend the visa exemption. So, either the Bangkok Post is wrong or the government source is mistaken. Maybe the Russian Embassy will seek clarification.
As it is explained by the Thai Embassy in Moscow Russians still have 30 days stamps. VoA was an option (for someone who needed a visa) but never was used since the bilateral agreement about visa exemptions.

The Thai notice closes, if necessary, ALL types of educational facilities until further notice. IE: regular schools, dance schools, language schools, muay Thai, etc.

Well regular schools are already shut until May. It's the 'summer' holiday.

I think they are talking about actions that will happen if the situation escalates. Planning, putting the legislation in place, just in case.

The VOA was another kneejerk reaction https://www.nationthailand.com/news/303 ... mteouU4GnQ

I guess we should be glad the Gov't controls the news in the event of a crisis to make sure we aren't fed rubbish :?

I went out yesterday--did some jobs-Post Office, Dry cleaning, shopping. During that whole exercise I did not come within 3m of any person, wore cotton gloves which I washed with my clothes in bleach on returning home and wiping down my credit card, Wasnt too difficult
