There is a plethora of advice available about similar problems with Firefox, but if I try all the suggestions, I'll be sitting here for a week.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled FF, I've run Avast and Malwarebytes scans.

Has anyone else had this problem?

And there is something called Delta Homes that I can't seem to get rid of, even though I've uninstalled it.
I don't use Firefox just IE and have been experiencing the same problem for about 2 weeks and the page that is open just closes and for the Forum, I have to resign in again!!

Yes, I've got rid of that now using this advice: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/delta-home ... adwcleaner

It's not a virus, just a sodding nuisance!

Now it's a question of waiting to see if the 'self-closing' problem has disappeared...

EDIT: 30 minutes later and all is well...
This is the way

99.9% of the time these problems are not the fault of the browser. Malware, crapware, toolbars, addons and general shite attaching itself to the browser is nearly always the cause. Run regular scans with a good malware cleaner such as Spybot.

I tried downloading the adwcleaner but my iPad won't open it and it's the Internet on the iPad that keeps closing.

Sorry, cant help with iPads, Apple and the like, this thread discusses ways to fix Windows and PCs. There should be an equivalent malware scanner for Apple ... or maybe try an alternative browser (if you're allowed to install one on iOS).

For the same reason you can't download adwcleaner, nothing should be capable of being 'installed' on your iPad without your say-so. It's probably a case of closing the browser completely instead of just minimising it; I would then also reset your machine.

So, press the home button to get to the home screen. Double-click your home button until you see the open apps along the bottom. In iOS 6, press and hold the safari app until a small black cross appears and you can then press that cross to close the app completely. In iOS 7, slide the preview of the app screen up towards the top of the page and this closes the app.

In the settings screen on iOS 7, scroll down to safari and I recommend you turn 'block pop-ups' on as well as 'do not track' and 'fraudulent website warning'. I also recommend on that screen you set 'block cookies' to include 'third parties and advertisers' and then press both the 'clear history' and 'clear cookies and data' buttons.

You should then 'reset' you iPad. you can do this by pressing both the power/on button and home screen button at the same time and keeping them both pressed until the screen goes blank and then the apple symbol appears. Your iPad with then go through the start-up procedure.

When in Safari, choose a new page with the '+' icon and in the bottom left of the screen (in iOS 7) you will see a button marked 'Private'. Choosing this will mean you are in private browsing mode and none of your site data will be stored - you will need to log into the forum each time if you select this as no cookies are stored. The top of the safari window will be dark in colour rather than light if you are in Private Browsing mode.

Did you have a specific program on Win 7 to access Youtube? I thought maybe you had a iPad or Android tablet and had accidentally deleted the Youtube app...

I always just use the link http://www.youtube.com/ on Win 7.

I have a Norwegian friend here in HH who requires some assistance in sorting out some minor problems on her computer. She would like someone who could visit her in her condo rather than her having to lug the gear to a shop. She is willing to pay for the inconvenience. Any advice welcome
