Dream on ... the day anyone with clout in this town listens to aliens will be the day I eat my computer.

Nice thoughts sandman but they'll fail on the grounds that they make sense and are far too logical!

We have more chance of Batman fighting crime I reckon. :thumb:

well today i was plesantly surprised i was dropping someone off at the bus station, when someone shouted me,i turned round and low and beold it was the tourist policeman i spoke to,a few days ago about the bike attacks,he told me that they were going to have patrols looking out at night,he even asked my thai partner for a better idea where the attacks are happening, just a thought he had no need to come over ,i had not seen him it was his own choice to tell me,so maybe something can be done

In pattaya the evil place  they do have a farang volunteer police unit, i have read on Pattaya city news, know called Pattaya one news, that they where looking for more volunteers about 6 months ago, so maybe aliens can have some positive input into the community along side the MIB. :thumb:

Sarge

come on...im on hooks here....what was in the paper? Was it that firebomb the Reporter were on aboot?

Kendo

Great lead mate.....

So maybe the chief might want to go pay a visit to his brother officers over in Narok (Patayya) and pick up a few tips......

I know the police in Thailand are beginners at intelligence led policing techniques..... Id be happy to spend an afternoon helping them work out how to set that up, position static and rolling patrols, that sort of stuff.....it would probably save them a hell of a lot of wasted shoe leather and effort....

BUT

whats really needed is for the MIBS themselves to work this through by doing what they are supposed to do..... lets face it.... that in itself is the biggest job of all.

Id be happy to offer help or input, as at the end of the day Im helping them (hopefully) look after me, Mrs S, and the people in our soi.....but at the moment Id say that would be wasted effort.

They need to change the way they think before they try changing the way they work.

Heres hoping!

HH does not need bozo wannabe junior g-men hassling falangs.
These clowns have no authority and are infantile a-holes living out their masturbatory fantasies.
Friend of mine told one of them to effoff before he smacked him. Tosser got the message and made himself scarce.

Masturbatory fantasies, eh? Well, there's notjhing quite like a bit of intelligent conversation to sort out a difference of opinion between two adults...

I take it that it did not make the Bangkok Post or the Nation which beggers the question why not???
I read the headlines and then get No1 son to read and translate the articles to me to help his English skills so understand this is from the paper through son through me to this post
The firebomb you talk of I know not although the article talks of a car that was set alight with petrol deliberately .Reported as a Honda Jazz.
It NAMES 2 farangs as victims says one is a teacher/ property dealer in condos/etc
A 3rd Farang is referred to but NOT named described as Farang Mafia (Buksi order in the HP it will make the laptop go down better) property developer with influence with the police and local politicians. It also refers to a long running property dispute
As I virtually never leave home due to health I am sure others that do can fill in the gaps with FACTs please I can make guesses but have not
I just wonder what the MIB and the thais make of it

I was aware of this incident sarge but HHAD are limiting discussion on it so as not to do exactly what your Thai newspaper has and come to its own conclusions. HHAD is still waiting for those involved in the incident to let them know how to handle it.

Now back to Batman and Robin!

kendo, Pattaya may have such a system but Pattaya is a tourist playground with a lot more compared to Hua Hin which is still essentially a Thai town (but with a rising crime problem). I don't for one minute think that those with power here will tolerate aliens advising or contributing to their police force.

The firebombed car mentioned belonged to a couple who live up on Soi 88 and were some of the main contributors to a now closed thread called "code of conduct in the property market". I don't want to start up that argument again because the administrators would probably close this thread too, but the gist of it is a couple moved here and were ripped off big time by a couple of developers. They tried many ways to get justice through the police, courts, press, etc. but after no action they became frustrated and started airing their problems with two particularly bad developers on this forum and another open forum on the internet. The ultimate result was that their car was firebombed in their carport (attached to their house) one night. While the entire insides of the car were blazing, they called both the police and the fire department to no avail. All they got was mai khao jai from both. The man in desparation, fearing the gas tank would explode and destroy their house fought the fire and was able to put it out with a garden hose. I've seen photos and the entire interior of the car is gutted by the fire. (someone broke a window and tossed a molitov coctail inside). Then the man jumped on his bike and went downtown and enlisted the help of a Thai he knew to go to the police station with him to make a report. The police came out and made a report but nothing has happened as yet. This was on the 3rd of July. It is widely suspected by many that one of the developers or property agents that were being named on the thread paid to have this done to get the couple to leave town. Will the police find the perps? Will they even look for them? Your guess is as good as mine.
