Interesting article about real estate in Hua Hin
Jim and Norseman,
both of you point it out in a very smart way!
So long there aren't any important or interesting news, it would be bad if this topic will escalate more and more again as all the topics on real estate had done in the past.
I'll take the advice for jai yen and may be my friend Burger will do the same, because a life in HH has much more to offer than real estates.

Well this article gives a good overview of Hua Hin.
Ahh yes. it is accurate and gives insights of prices too.
But I strongly disagree with the statement that Thai Hi So establishment. are over here. The newly rich and famous among here to mingle with the Hi So folks to gain expirience from them!!!

Hi Hogus,
Just as I thought, you are 'brave' enough in making accusations from behind your computer screen but not so brave in following through with these accusations.
That is called cowardice.
What makes you think you have the right to label people in the local business community as conmen without backing up your claims ?
Coward.

SPLITLID,
No problem that you are pointing out that JW is a decent guy. To then follow that by saying that in your oppinion he is the only agent in Hua Hin with any integrity is mind blowing.
I do not beleive I even know you and you have taken it upon yourself to cast dispersions against me my partners and my agency along with every other agent and developer that you do not know. Are you trying to tell us that you know every agent in Hua Hin and every developer and your sweeping statment is bassed on personal meetings and experiences with all of them .
Not quite sure what medication you are on but I would suggest that you up the dossage as it would appear that senile dementure has allready taken hold of you.

May I suggest that we have a poll on if you are happy with your dealings with real estate agents in HH or not.
No comments , Just a Yes or No Poll.
I am not sure how to set it up.
My hunch is that the vast majority would be positive with just a few No's.
Restrict it to just YOUR dealings, not hearsay.

ozuncle,
Nice idea but doomed to failure, in terms of any accuracy, I am afraid. I don't think there is any 'honour amongst forum users' and you would not get any meaningful or sound statistics from it either way. Might also lead to a number of people joining up several times just to get an extra vote! It's worse than Nigeria on here sometimes....

Best advice is to do business with people that have been recommended to you from past experience, get 3 or 4 past customer's or personal recomendation's.
There are many agents that have sprung up or jumped on the bandwagon that have never dealt with a realtor or estate agent before. Also you need someone that know's the area and can reasure you of the builders standard of work.
Lots of rubbish has been said here, the market is pretty flat at the moment and will remain so, internal and external influence.
I have recognised a few local builder's posting here and a few realtor's, their comments reflect negative the vibes that are apparent in the land/propertymarket.
Have a look at property etc via this board for an overview, before you jump in come and look around for a couple of week,s, preferrably with someone you trust. Becareful though its a minefield, frought with danger.

You can see the little gangs that have formed already, the builders, the realtors, the hopefull buyers, the knowals and last but not least the back stabbers of which are in each group.Wanderlust wrote:ozuncle,

good idea oz but too restrictive peops that are dealing with estate agents property developers will be happy of course they will and is only self fulfilling for the agents and developers ie a waste of time
In a few years time it may be different but i dont see that yet
I personaly have had no direct dealings with these business people and in general i have stated the majority are pretty honest i have had dealings with an individual who i believe is no longer here (thank god) who had absolutely no problem stating to a friend blatant untruths and became very beligerant when I called him on it (no one on this web site i emphasize) one conman is two too many in my book
It doesnt take one long to realise that mr burger does not have me on his xmas card list but I have stated a few times and i will reiterate that Mr Burger has never NOT once told a lie or an untruth (on this website) that i can point to (and i would if i could) he has on occasions only told half the story and goes dumb when he doesnt want to answer because the question is to hard and at guilding the lily and painting pictures through rose tinted glasses picasso would be humbled in his presence however this to any educated peops IS the way of the property business ( I only object on this web site as it is public and i am a member and this website is a good way for people to avoid the conmen)I also believe most if not all of his customers would vote in his favour
Farangs in the property game who purport to know the law in this country are either delusional or bordering on fraudsters my take is most are delusional even i can understand land act section 4 its piggin simple
I also ask the question why are the dealers in property so reticent at declaring publicly their vested interests surely they can see it is that which gives people the impression they are all bent and hiding something ie it looks dodgy and smells dodgy

sargeant,
I don't like this trend on here of calling people liars (which you haven't but are sailing close to the wind I must add), mainly because (as a couple of posters have already said) we are all relatively anonymous and it is an easy thing for someone to do, but also it is impossible to prove in many instances. My main intention when posting on property (and other threads) is to give a reasoned, logical and balanced view, and it is important on property issues that people are able to make a well informed choice, as there is a substantial amount of money involved. This is what I do as a regular poster, not in my other role as a moderator.
As a moderator I am going to talk to my esteemed colleagues as I want to stamp out the 'Liar, liar, pants on fire' behaviour because it does nobody any good. I can understand someone's frustration if a blatant untruth has been told but you do not win that argument by just calling someone a liar, you win it for good with a reasonable, well thought out post with facts and references to back it up where relevant. Otherwise we may just as well rename this forum 'The Playground' and give each other Chinese Burns!

WL,
Good points there.
I called Canada1 a liar but only when quoting two of his posts which proved he was lying. Ofcourse I wouldn't do it without proof and agree it is not good for the forum.
It was also because he is our 'Virgin' friend, so I wanted to expose him for what he is.
When you talk with your colleagues can you please address the faceless people who are labelling people 'conmen', 'dishonest', 'ex-convicts', ex-drug dealers' etc etc.
When challenged they run away and do not back up their claims, it stirs up emotions and a thread descends into chaos.
There's signs now on certain threads of the utter chaos you get on TV (I accept I am part of that), the quality of this website is way above that and should remain so.
Just my thoughts, you use them or leave them.
Cheers,
Burger

PS:
Hogus,
I'm surprised and dissapointed with someone like you, who is a regular and usually argues your case properly, to then stoop to the level of the trolls and s**t stirrers by throwing in accusations about some real estate people being 'conmen'.
You have no evidence, you have no names, you're not involved in the business.
It doesn't help or add to the forum, it is destructive to the forum.
Keep your emotions to yourself and just post on facts or what you know to be true.
There may be some 'conmen' out there, but I haven't spotted them and I deal with them day in, day out. If I spotted them I wouldn't deal with them.
