Thai Seafood Restaurant on the Beach

Post by Terry »

Try 'Apple' or Apen as the Thai's call it.

Go down to the beach alongside the Anantasila Hotel at Takiab and it's on the right hand side on the beach.

Concrete tables, rafia / tin roof supported by concrete posts.

Food is great quality, only singh and heineken + soft drinks, but the food is cheap as chips and plenty of it.

Has new "english' menu which is entartaining to read and much better if you have a Thai person with you.

I've been going there regularly for the last 8 years and never had a bad meal yet.

Nowhere near the bloody pier - but worth the trip

Turn right coming out of the hotel and head towards the sea. The road bends to the left. Keep going along there for maybe 200 yds or so and it's on your right. A couple of mins walk.

Great Seafood at Sangthai, its the last one oppostie to fishermans wharf and Little Danish (another cracking little place), have eaten at the seafood restaurants in Cha Am and would agree they are very good and well priced. Enjoy.

The BEST place is Meekaruna on the pier...excellent seafood, crabcakes, white fish with fresh asparagus, pineapple filled with rice and stuff, oysters. Try to get a table close to the water. ENJOY

If I recall corrrectly the original poster was enquiring about seafood places near the pier. It was implied, although not stated directly, that he was referring to the pier in Hua Hin.

That being so, I will not recommend anywhere in Prachuap Khiri Khan town, neither will I consider any of the excellent places in Cha-Am. The seafood at the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok is rather tasty but quite expensive and it is furthermore several weeks stroll from the Hua Hin Pier.

My particular favourite is the Seaside place. It is not one of the more obtrusive places that can be found immediately adjacent to the pier. Indeed, if you've had a few pre-prandial drinks you caould walk past without noticing it.

But it is not difficult to find. If you are walking with the Hilton monstrosity on your right you descend a small hill to the point where another road comes from the right. Turn right here and the Seaside Restaurant is a few yards along on your left - next door to Bird Guest House.

The food is excellent, the service good and the prices reasonable.

Tell them that you were sent by Caducus and they will be mystified.
