^^ Agreed the lights are advisory only: Red = Perhaps stop, whilst amber and green are go and go-go respectively

So it's the same as any other light in Thailand??!!Bristolian wrote:^^ Agreed the lights are advisory only: Red = Perhaps stop, whilst amber and green are go and go-go respectively

The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

Probably because nobody ever uses the ones that are already therehuahin4ever wrote:Instead of traffic lights, why not build more overpasses??? Imo that's the best thing to do. Safe crossings for pedestrians and uninterrupted flow of traffic!

I sat on the overpass just North of the palace yesterday while waiting for the parade. I was surprised at the steady stream of people using it.

Re: Bangkok Hospital Traffic Lights
Can someone tell me why they turn the traffic lights off at 5pm Fri afternoon and switch them back on sun afternoon. Yesterday they were turned off early afternoon. I live at Condochain and watch traffic banked up well to the south of CC and IMO having the lights working would make little difference.
Re: Bangkok Hospital Traffic Lights
Not to be too cynical, but probably because the weekend Bangkok yahoos tend to ignore them anyway. Pedestrians are safer knowing they need to take care of themselves.
