Errr...
sorry, Terry and BB, I usually only check the latest topics so this one passed me by. Will Check the cam this evening and maybe post some piccies. Always good to ask the vendor first about capabilities.
I bought this one from a small stall in the Zeer Rangsit computer mall.

No probs Vincent

I took the plunge and purchased a 'Vehicle Blackbox DVR' from the guy upstairs in the old supermarket in HH.

Fitted with a 32 Gb micro card it came out at THB 3,180 - and worth every satang.

Automatically resets into 10 minute segments of your journey, great quality video and I can record BKK to HH with plenty of spare space.

Done 3 journeys thus far and still playing with it but overall am well impressed.

This is what I got, see attached photos. It records in HD so you are actually able to read the number plate of the vehicle in front, unlike the other two. Does not take up a lot of windscreen real estate, either.

I bought one from Lazada for 1900 baht which has gps, hd and two lenses so will not only pick up what is happening in front but audio and picture from inside the car. Not had a chance to see what the video is like yet as it arrived and I was without car for a week or so. Unfortunately the plug for the small gps unit that came with it failed but too late to get a replacement. I will be checking to see what the picture comes out like and will report back once it has had a chance to do some work.

Had a little play today and while it says HD on the box you cannot read number plates but that may be me not setting it up properly. It runs automatically and the pictures would be useful should you be involved in an accident. Had the gps been working it would Aldo have given speed and a link to google maps for the location. It has sound which is a bit muffled although not having taken the screen protector off it may still be covered. It is a shame the gps plug failed but is still usable in its present condition.
As I get more use out of it I will report further.

Being mechanically inept, I have to ask how easy they were to install? I'm assuming power comes via the cigar lighter.

Mine runs for about 20mins on the internal battery after a 3 hr charge. I have connected to the cars' 12 volt power outlet on the journey to and from BKK. (Cigar lighter also works)

It fits into a mount which is fixed to the windscreen via suction pad.

Very simple to install BB
