I have not phoned CTH yet, will get my girlfriend to do that, but was in 'Big Kiang' (soi 88) today and they told me they will be getting all their boxes/dishes etc at the end of the month. With the premiership starting in early August the idea that they will be offering the packages only from the end of the month for installation in Hua Hin makes me believe there will be a lot of people who won't be seeing the football on TV for quite a while. I am sure there is a large interest in these packages so offering a 7 day advance set up may be pushing the boundaries, of enabling all those wanting the deals, a little bit too far. I am shocked that the Thai sponsors have allowed this to carry on. Other than their pretty appalling website and one advert on a CTH program today their marketing/selling of their offer is pretty pathetic. I have asked in quite a few of the stores and their answer is all the same, we know nothing, go see 'Big Kiang' who offered me the advice above.

EPL (footie) on CTH

Post by fft100 »

True have lost the rights to show the EPL for the next 3 years, and CTH have got them.

Has anyone signed up for CTH yet ? I don't see a lot (any) advertising going on for CTH, and the season starts in a few weeks. Anyone know how to get CTH, and what channels, packages are available.

Thanks

Is the office that 'easyas' mentions off the Petchkasem Road the one opposite the baguette shop with the red railings?

With True Visions you can also use a PVR to record and stop live TV does anyone know if CTH has this facility? In fact I don't think I have seen a DVD recorder in Thailand has anyone got any info on this?

I have been looking at other options to watch EPL, a friend has recommended https://www.thaiexpat.tv/ but I have had an on-line chat with them and at the moment they don't have EPL, they say maybe in a couple of weeks time they will.

Lastly, I can't believe that True Vision will survive without having access to the EPL, is there any inside info on them still showing football?
Yes CTH is opposite Baguette and they tell me the EPL with Satellite will be available early (?) next month

looking at the CTH website, the movies seem very old. Crimson tide, conan the barbarian, deep impact.

Nothing of the very recent releases / quality that you get on HBO and the other movie channels on True. I get the feeling that the series advertised are also earlier ones, so that the cost is minimal. We are talking about 'Fox Thai', not Fox....

Unless their website is as bad as their marketing... in which case I wouldn't be that confident about there technical side...

It would be interesting to see a full schedule of programs the schedule on the website does not display anything (for me anyway), and points to the main schedule page.

TrueVision will muddle through the next 3 years I imagine.
After all, they've just started to show MUFC TV (24/7, 365 days a year, channel 119).
That insult has made me even more determined to go elsewhere! :cuss:

3 weeks to the start of EPL season and no forum discussion about CTH live telecast of matches?
I thought Hua Hin was full of 'poms' .....

Could well be mo1 but interest in EPL extends beyond 'poms'.
To add my two pennorth to the discussion I was rung today by a CTH lady from Hua Hin, speaking excellent English I must say (in total contrast to what other people on this forum topic have said - perhaps you yourselves don't speak the King's English?) and who said CTH now have the set top boxes in stock and how many would I like?
I'll be in first thing in the morning - hope there's enough for all you Poms!
