I've e-mailed them about a specific blood test, and they haven't even had the courtesy to reply.

No, I'm not going to chase them. I'm personally quite happy with the services of Petcharat Hospital. I have to go there anyway. The e-mail was for my wife, who didn't really want to travel for the test (it means a very early start in the morning). She can have her test done the next time I go to Petcharat.

Our GP in Hua Hin has already told my wife the test isn't available locally, but seeing the recommendation above, I thought that I'd ask. They're probably still looking up what the test is :?

Went in and had the standard blood checkup and blood group test on Wednesday, got the results today. Cost 850 baht, very professional service.

I am not sure why weight measuring and blood pressure checking is un-neccessary. If you happened to be in a hospital you may have a problem of which you are not aware (fever or irregular blood pressure, for example). Detecting those is important for the doctors, determination of treatment, procedures, drugs etc. I do regular check-up when I am in Hua Hin, but I never felt offended by these measurements. I don't think you will save much if you insist on not doing them.

I've no idea what a standard blood checkup is at this lab or in Thailand. I'd guess CBC and Chem-7 but T.I.T. so I wouldn't bet on it. Would you care to list the tests and prices individually? If so I'll list the prices for the EENT doc on soi 55/1.

Wow, that is quite rare. My Dad was also. Keep it under your hat or the hospitals will be calling you for a donation quite frequently. Nothing wrong with that, but I remember my Dad being called regularly.

I'll try to find some graphs/charts in the morning showing % of population by type. Pete

This is the split for the UK, and whilst O+ and A+ are the most common in all countries, the other groups vary quite a bit (in overall % terms).

With the above "check up" chart I'm surprised the most common diseases aren't checked for. Hepatitis A, B, C...Syphilis and HIV. I guess they're extra, at extra cost. Pete
