I don't think thats the case anymore and I don't believe for one minute he will get as long as he needs. Rodgers is a realist and he's already talking of getting to January, at which stage, I assume, he will reclaim Carroll?
I'm interested in seeing the documentary and any fallout? Judging by the comments to the link I posted earlier, many fans aren't happy.

I don't bang on about what a massive club Liverpool is, but by your theory Manchester City is a bigger club than Arsenal which isn't true.
If you ever want to see a European Cup Arcadian, visit Anfield, we're one of the 3 clubs in the world who own one.
We nearly ceased to exist, days away from administration, I'm fully aware we are starting from scratch.

Oh but you do go on and on about Liverpool being a big club, and we are talking about LFC not Arsenal or Man C.
But every club has to start somewhere, I remember going to Home Park to Watch Plymouth Argyle play Liverpool in the then second division.
As for that European Cup, do you think it could be sold to keep your heads above water?
Well we were actually talking about England but you had to talk about Liverpool, your favourite subject.
Don't know where you've got some weird opinion of Liverpools finances from mate but the only thing they won't do is overspend on older players. The way you're talking you'd think we've sold our best players for the last 5 years and sold our last 4 captains .

Disagree on all accounts, he'll get 3 years minimum, Can't see Carroll back and comments on YouTube are hardly a good indication of the mood in the ground. Most of them have probably never even been to Liverpool.

You Tube?
The comments were below the article in the Telegraph - you know, the one that had the photo of the large painting of Rodgers, that, er, hangs in his own home!
As for Carroll, Rodgers already said he wouldn't have let him leave had he known they couldn't get anyone else in, including a 29 year old Dempsey at the top of his game for 6m, who Rodgers clearly wanted. Who else are you gonna get in January based on that?
Arcadian wrote:Thing is Baa Baa I may be wrong, does happen sometimes, but your constant banging on about Liverpool being a big club does irritate people. Selling a zillion shirts in China and having fans singing the best songs no longer qualifies Liverpool for being a big club, accept the fact that your club is mediocre, you don`t have the best keeper, midfielder and forward in the league. The fans are being patient with Rodgers because he did well at Swansea getting them to play great football, but how long has he got to produce the quality your fans expect before the mutterings start?
To be fair Rodgers took over a Swansea team that were playing great football and just carried on with the plans that were in place, at his previous job at Reading he was playing anything but great football. The jury is still out as to whether he is a good manager or not

Shame on him for displaying a gift he received from a South Wales charity that he'd done work for.

You should be able to spot a gentle piss-take by now.

I thought you genuinely thought Liverpool were skint.

If he was 24 they'd have paid it, by all accounts they'd go and spend 20 odd million if it represents value for money, a 24 year old Suarez for example. We've been stuck with the likes of Joe Cole earning astronomical wages whilst sitting on his arse. Plus Liverpool were quoted a higher price for Dempsey than Spurs were.
January isn't the best time to buy but players can be got, Suarez to us, Torres to yourselves, Cisse to Newcastle.
Cleverly not so clever tonight - should have scored twice, then hit the bar. Consequence? 1-0 down at half-time. Leaden defence for the Ukraine goal albeit a superb finish, Gerrard forgot to mark, I believe?
Well, we secured the draw and we looked better after the substitutions.
I can see where Hodgson is coming from, in pairing up players that are comfortable with or know each other from club football, but they have to be good enough. We are obviously weaker without Terry, but to leave Cahill out? The one player who is likely to step up to the standard needed.
I think Hodgson will have learnt a lot tonight and will hopefully respond accordingly, possibly helped by Gerrards suspension, I assume(?) from the next game. Theres not a lot left in the engine and I would question whether he can really be our playmaker anymore? A more collective approach is needed now and Welbeck, Sturridge and others can step up. Hopefully Cleverly will make it as well?
Cleverly has already made it Caller, he's played 2 games for England, about 10 for United at 23 years old. He's already been compared to Fabregas in the English press.
Gerrard needs to refine his game a little and he can't play so many games so quickly, but don't forget his performancs in the world cup .
