My wife and I used to sell piles of stuff on Ebay in the UK and the amount of stuff that went missing unbelievable. Personally I've found the Thai postal service to be very good, but of course there will be goods that get lost/go missing on occasions.

If you think the postal service here is bad, you should try the South African one. It used to be excellent, but not most countries won't even offer postal insurance on goods sent there because anything that contains more than just a few pages of paper just gets stolen.

I regularly get asked by the post office if I can help located someone who has moved from the posted address, so they do try.

It also help if the address is in Thai,, and particularly to a Thai person.. I often have letters/packet sent to my wife and as far as I know, have lost none.

I must say that my postman (apart from having an inability to get off his motorbike to actually put things in our letterbox) is really good. I don't know how many postmen there are in Hua Hin, but I've seen the same guy in a few different locations.

He actually delivers my letters based on the surname, as opposed to the address. I guess my surname must be pretty unique on his round.

We weren't getting our 3BB bill for a while, which is in my daughter's married surname. He actually stopped my wife one day to find out if she knew this strange person using our address. To date, every letter sent from outside of Thailand has reached us, and with the exception of the early 3BB bills (which must have been thrown away according to Mister Clean), so have all Thai letters.

No complaints ....................... yet.

Been having the same problems as all on here since Jan when we moved here full time. Went upstairs to the PO two weeks ago and said I was still waiting for a parcel posted in the UK in April (birthday pressie). They checked the records but couldn't find any trace. Also told them I have had no mail for at least two months. Found a huge box full for the development I live on and they made a cursory search and came up with a couple of items (TOT bill and tax office letter). God knows whether they will deliver or as said earlier have a clear out in the bin to make space for the next load of "undelivered" mail...
