Transport to Hua Hin

Post by mil_dos »

Tantong,
It's not on the meter but a fixed price which I believe to be a good rate to Hua Hin. Prices have gone up since earlier this year. Don't think you can haggle on this transport but that price was for three people yesterday. Going back to Bangkok with local limo should be less. 8)

Tantong,
The Evason and The Hilton are not exactly the most wallet friendly resorts so why on earth are you worried about an extra couple of bucks on a cab fare?

How one gets from Don Muang (Bangkok Int airport) to HH has been often discussed on this forum. Personally I hate the drive from Bangkok. The scenery is bad and the road is chaotic and tiring (some would say a small price to pay to get to heaven). I would prefer to be at my destination rather than on the road to HH, which is why I normally use the SGA air service which costs BHT5,600 for the round trip. Evason will pick you up from the HH airport. Users of this forum tend to overlook the air option. I understand that for many the cost may not be worth it. But if you can afford Evason and your leisure time is limited, it is a good option.

Good point gaijin, especially as the OP was considering staying at Evason, which hardly comes cheap.
I don't think that the board forgets about the air service, it's just that the timings may not suit outbound flights from BKK and certainly if you're just going into central BKK, it's probably quicker to do so by taxi.

When i arrived back this time there was a large number of people waiting in line for the metered taxi,s.

So i haggled with a smartly dressed Thai man who was offering limo services with Benz or large Toyota.

I got airport to hua hin for 2500bht, and the service was really good as sometimes you can get lumbered with a wreck with the taxi meter.

Also on one occasion we did a detour so he could fill up with LPG.

Mike.

thanks for the advice. actually i am not very well off. just a normal guy. For us we prefer to save on transport and to spend more on accomodation. esp this times i paid 23559 baht for 3 nights at the resort in evason. but my return airfare from singapore only cost 5880 for 2 of us! So i think the transport by air is out for me. Hope that i can get a good taxi and reach Hua hin safely.

Really looking forward to go to Hua Hin. seems like a great place to be!

total rip off

I agree, the cost of domestic flights in this country are off the scale, I have to fly to Ranong in November and it costs more for just me than your return flight for two of you did from Singapore and its less than a quarter of the distance.

:cuss:

Hope you enjoy the Evason and HH.

just by what i get from here i know i am going to have a great time in Hua Hin. pls feel free to give me advices on how to make the most out of my coming trip.

For domestic flights i got nil experience, you need to forgive me on this if you know you only need to travel 30 mins by car from 1 end to the other in my country!
