Heard about the apparent rock throwing ,police said no such complaint, once again gossip.today i learnt there has only been one complaint made to the police and that was about 2 soi dogs . So after today we are leaving this matter in the hands of the police. We have to have some faith. They promised today they will get who did this crime.

Loose lips sink ships. Hopefully the perps are stupid enough to gossip about their involvement, and that gossip gets back to the police.

If there were eyewitnesses able to identify the perps, the police would have already arrested them. In the absence of an eyewitness the police need to investigate any rumours or gossip they can.

If anyone has heard anything about this, no matter how trivial it may seem, it needs to be repeated to the police.

Hi Anita

Obviously you don't want to be too specific, but may I ask what part of soi 6 this happened on? I sure hope the police get those responsible but as you've mentioned, they don't really have much to go on. Any news regarding your son BTW?

Hi Takiap,
My son was driving down the road where kor Sors was at the bottom & think the villas at the bottom is it naturaul Lake. Was just driving up to his house, was miniuts away. When the 2 guys came out the bushes, My daughter in law has managed to give her discription but as it happened very quick & was last thing on her mind to take down anything of use.WE have managed to get some information that the police now have so are hoping for some results.Paul had a CAT scan sunday & hospital in Bangkok telephoned this morning to say they will give him another today. Today is the 9th day & he is still with us.

Takiap, I was at the scene and so I can tell you it occurred approximately 300 metres east of the entrance to Natural Lake Hill development.Natural Lake Hill is immediately adjacent to Kor Sor resort entrance.

Well, I hope he recovers.
But I also think there's no smoke without fire.
Thai's don't go lunatic for nothing.
If it wasn't a robbery, why did they launch an assault with masks on?
Can anyone answer this or is this just another Hua Hin mystery...?

If the motive wasn't robbery then other conclusions must be considered. It's easy for Thais and foreigners to have a loose mouth etc without even realising it often, and many locals have a primordial face etc attitude towards it, especially if uneducated menial types, if they are on the receiving end, or if on the 'handing out' end then arrogance/complacency/delusions of grandeur etc often prevail .

Not insinuating anything apart from if it wasn't robbery then there's a murky layer underneath with people having done something, or perceived to have, by some lunatic on one side or another.

This appears targeted which implies other scenarios which I shouldn't speculate upon and have been requested not to anyhow.

As for construction workers......well, they are the bottom of the barrel and shouldn't be engaged for any reason as most are beyond reproach, hopelessly deluded, often not Thai anyhow, can disappear the next morning and generally all round untouchables/undesirables........leaving them alone is a good idea as they will move on soon enough usually.

Sounds and appears like a revenge attack to me as if it was just a 'You're a Johnny Foreigner' attack then robbery would have ensued.

As mentioned by someone else, mouthing off has got many into trouble.

Also, not riding motorbikes helps...too vulnerable to dogs, perps and accidents of all types in general but understand that it's not an option for all.
What's with all the quoting without response?
I often wonder that too as many seem to do it. :?
I've been living in Soi 6 for the last 5 or 6 years, and have not heard of any such incidents involving foreigners. I know of one elderly Thai man that was brutally murdered because his opinion of Taksin differed to the opinions of two building site workers, but this was about two years ago. Shortly after that, i believe a policeman was shot and killed when he tried to enforce the law with a local security guard who was carrying an illegal firearm. Apart from those two cases, the place has been as peaceful as ever
Well. call me old fashioned, but I'd say that that was way enough for a single soi for 5 years imo......

I do come from good old South Africa remember :thumb:, but of course for the sake of political correctness, I won't go into any detail as to why we have more violent crime in a day in SA than the rest of the world has in a year. Maybe global warming or something like that? :thumb:

Jesus Christ, I hope to feck nothing bad ever happens to me. It'll be all my own fault before they've even got me to hospital!

The only thing that can possibly be achieved by this speculation is upsetting the family of the victim. Repeat "the victim". Is it really so difficult to bear that in mind?

"I'm not suggesting anything, but there's no smoke without fire" - holy shit...

I have been a victim both here and Zimbabwe

In Zim I fired a gardener who was stealing anything he could hide in his boiler suit and wellies. 2 days later my land-rover was stoned by a mob as I left my property. The LR saved me from injury

In Thailand up a quiet soi up Nebkehardt I arrived home one evening and was taking off my shoes when I was attack with clubs. No theft and if theft was the motive they would have waited for me to open the door. Transpired after some neighbourly inquiries that the guy living next door was the target as he had fired a whole crew of workman from his business property

If there is no theft surely there has to be another motive

Thais are very sensitive about losing face as most of you will have experienced and just shunning or not smiling at the right time can upset a Thai if it's in front of his family or friends.

I do hope Paul recovers and the perps are found and punished but they may already be back in the wilds of Isaan

I think this is what myself and other are trying to say. I for one am not say Paul got what he deserved, or even that he did anything wrong in the first place, but I do believe there must have been a motive since I doubt they were just out having fun.

Anyways, let's hope Paul makes a full recovery, and I hope this incident won't result in the family leaving Thailand. Let us know of any progress please Anita.
