Don't let his laid back demeanor fool you... he's just kickin' back between chasing off burglars, and other dogs, and cats, and damned near anything else that comes around. :D :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

A good dish-licker is hard to beat... keeps the burglars at bay, doesn't yak-yak... and some breeds especially are very protective of children.
Can I happily recommend Staffordshire Bull terriers as being the most nurturing and loving companions for children, at the same time as appearing to be Jaws on legs to Asians.

I'm sure you are being sarcastic right?

Just google search for "Staffordshire Bull terriers attacks child" and you will see how loving they are! No responsible parent IMHO would ever have one near their kids

No I was not being sarcastic.

I have grown up with them, and they are a popular breed in Australia. They can be nasty to other mutts and strangers, but I have seen them be very protective to children. Just back in July a friend of mine in Pattaya had his todler fall into his pool and nearly drown at 7 am in the morning. It was the Staffie barking that raised the alarm and saved the child.

Pit Bull Terriers I would agree with you.

If I remember correctly, you were the guy, who started the thread about how to buy a gun, to protect yourself and your family. And now razor wire. Next question, the local pittbull-kennel ??
Yes, we all need to take precautions, but relax and dont forget to enjoy the beautiful country, we are staying in.

for a guard dog to be effective it has to be trained to accept food only from the owner. difficult to do but can be done.
if not it makes no difference how aggressive the dog a lump of poisoned meat thrown over the wall will kill it in minutes.

That used to be common training where I grew up in Detroit (junkyard dogs, etc) but don't see it offered much anymore.
