Thanks again!
Hey CG, my personal favourite people watching place in town is Onn Onn Corner Bar.

Good view of the main walking junction in Town, just an open restaurant but decent little place to start an evening drinking.

BaaBaa, was that you I saw slurping Onn's very good tom yom goong? :thumb:

Well, after 4 days in HH I have had a chance to check out all of the recommended locations. Last night I enjoyed a very nice early part of the evening at Onn Onn Corner Bar. My TGF visiting from Bangkok and I were VERY impressed with the quality of service and politeness of the staff. I must say, thus far I have not been all impressed with the customer service in HH. After 8 trips to Thailand (BKK, Pattaya and now HH) I am still amazed at how rare it is to have attentive, FRIENDLY, and polite service. Perhaps I have spent too much time in Japan, where customer service quality is unmatched. However, the staff at Onn Onn Corner Bar by far provided the highest quality service I have come across in Thailand to date. The TGF even commented on how polite the staff's use of Thai was. I got the impression that it was a family owned and run business. Furthermore, I found the prices to be very reasonable, the beers VERY cold and the food delicious. I think I will be starting most, if not all, of my evenings there.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of this fine establishment!

Canadian Guy,
it is family owned by On and her hubby who are Isaan people. He's a tall good-looking man, 50-something, often sitting in the corner over by the temple walkway.
