There's talk tonight that Samak has booked radio time for 0730 tomorrow morning, and he has an audiance with His Majesty afterwards. Draw your own conclusions? Pete

I intend to live forever - so far so good.
Thanks Steve, but I have a hunch it will just lead to more of the same (mess).

Yes, basically the PAD is making a mockery of the democratic process by bringing down any elected government that they have personal issues with whilst refusing to form a political party and contest elections themselves.
The only good thing to come out of this is the refusal of the Army to take power so at least things should stay within the political and legal process.
I was speaking with my partner on the phone earlier and she was telling me that people in her area of Issan are so angry with what the PAD have done that they can’t even watch the news reports any more, so I hope the outcome of this takes into account the feelings in the rural NE or things could get far more violent than anything that has happened so far.

Looks like you could be right Pete. There's talk tonight that Samak has booked radio time for 0730 tomorrow morning, and he has an audiance with His Majesty afterwards. Draw your own conclusions? Pete
Press report: "Thailand's foreign minister has resigned, piling more pressure on the country's embattled prime minister after a man died in political fighting in Bangkok"
Nice peaceful settlement to this part of the equation would be welcome from all standpoints.

The Issaners should be happy, there will be another bunch of politicians coming round the villages soon with more handouts.
Whatever happens now its a mess, will be for a couple of years, and no closer to 'democracy' than the shitfight we have going on at the moment.

Who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed? - Hunter S Thompson
Guy on T-UK reported his wife (in Hua Hin) and 4 family members were approached by someone acting to rally supporters for the Govt. and offered 500 baht per day to go to Bkk - they declined.
Seems like its both sides everywhere, that are doing this. Does rather make a mockery of the reality?!

It makes a mockery of the entire 'democratic' process, Thailand just isn't ready for it. Only when people become educated enough not to take bribes for votes and actually begin to give a toss about who runs their country will things start to change.
Of course before this happens we need a government that is willing to invest in education which TRT/PPP have never done - this is why all of the politicians, royalists and elite send their kids overseas to get educated.
