This whole sorry story is a good example of modern male Thainess.......drunk immature morons who go berserk at the slightest provocation. And being drunk is no excuse.

Sadly for Thailand, the world has watched this. The book should be thrown at them in the harshest of ways to make an example.

Hope those that are victims of such indifference recover...shameful on the perps to do this to the elderly.

Now I see it is trending all over Facebook and how happy I am that it is. I hope Thai tourism comes crashing to it's knees it will have no impact on me it will only make life better, and just maybe however unlikely, the Thai authorities will take some serious action

^ Nothing will change,...because cheap beer, cheap hotels, white sand beaches and clear blue water......and to be honest (even if slightly cynical) not to mention cheap beautiful women everywhere that are so freely available due to the cultural discriminatory set-up that denies anyone without a degree a life or any kind of opportunity.

The douchebags will keep on coming from everywhere.....rest assured, sadly.

Except I would not call those elderly people douchebags.
I do agree that this country does nothing for it's people, there is little career opportunity even with a degree.
I know the scum who love to pick up girls in Bintabaht and Walking street in Pattaya will always come, let's hope they take a dose of the clap or worse back home to their wives and girlfriends

It's gone beyond that.
Yes.
I believe that you are quite right!
Has this something to do with education or is it as simple that most people in this country don't care what they do..
I am a strongly believer that this incident would never take place if the schools in this country could start to teach children the way forward.
My own stepson and two stepdaughters are just finished highscool but have no idea where Beijing is nor what the Nile is.
I think that everything has something to do with education.
"Now children, when you grow up you mustn't beat up old ladies"

Seriously! This is the fault of the school's teachings. I don't buy that.
So what do you buy?
Isn't lack of education the root to stupid behaviour in this country?
Do you really believe that Thai men of nature is just as friendly as you and me?
No beating of wife's and no bad drinking habit?
I really believe that the Thai educational system has to improve in order to get rid of the massive stupidity in this country and that this is the way forward to this country that both of us loves so much.

Well it seems to me that there are many yobs in Europe and the UK where education is perceived to be better (but not necessarily so). The tribes in the African jungle, where there is zero formal education, would never stoop so low as to show behaviour such as we see in the 'modern countries'.

Now family life and 'education' from parents is a much more believable reason and I would buy that.

I agree a lack of a good education no expectations or ambition or opportunity in their lives so bum around in a gang doing dreadful things and feeling cool and important quite sad really. I have a stepson like this and all he does is blames everyone else for his lack of good fortune.
Is Bangkok a place or a nasty injury.......Eric Morcombe.

I have watched this video several times now,

it seems to me that the one in black shirt with a red pattern on it that commits the most violence seems to come out of nowhere, when you slow it down he seems to turn up after the initial incident and throws a massive punch from the blindside.
