Just reviewing the table - and it's interesting

A win tonight puts us three points behind Manure :P
A draw leaves it literally at status quo :)
IF we loose - then every cloud has a silver lining - it puts the Arse' at 7............................

Both penalties were contentious. The foul by Cahill on Welbeck in the first half was much more clear cut but Webb didnt give it.
A draw was a fair result on chances taken, made and spurned and Chelseas first goal was fortuitous with the deflection off the unlucky Evans.
A cracking game to watch but it did show how much these two teams have declined in the last couple of seasons.

Mourinho back as Chelsea manager.....no chance.....more likely Gus Hiddink or even Roy Hodgson ! 8)

I agree 100%. Chelsea are a shadow of the side even from last season, but holding fourth and will clearly be there or thereabouts at the end.

And Utd had to drag Scholes out of retirement and its doubtful Ferdinand would get in the side, but for injuries. But you had a full bench to choose from, we had very little and a few injuries to key players is now a big problem and I think Ferguson is ahead of us in rebuilding.

Quite frankly, I was amazed we got to 3-0 up yesterday. But not surprised we let it slip. That wouldn't have happened with a more astute and dare I say, experienced manager at the helm.

I see the result as a point gained.

Excellent defensive display by Spurs last night against our bogey team (Of the past :D ). Was well happy with the point considering the injuries and Liverpool's recent resurgence :) . Now we have more important fish to fry, let's hope we get some of the boys back for the next three games. I fancy the full 9 points. Newcastle home, Arsenal away and followed by Man U home. Really looking forward to beating Man U as that's a rarity for us. The other two, routine!

Liverpool vs Spurs was the worst 90 minutes of footie I've seen this season. Bost sides were, to put it bluntly, CRAP! Nothing to comment on about the game really.... bloody boring 90 minutes. They looked like a couple of teams in the relegation zone.

Just read an interesting stat.... Liverpool's shots taken to goals scored ratio is the worst in the whole of the premier league. I think if they were to get themselves a natural goalscorer they may be a force to be reckoned with.

Haven't read any reports on the game yet. But I'm fairly sure they will be echoing my sentiments. Yes, some half decent defending (Dawson man of the match) but we are talking about a few good tackles throughout the game. We made ourselves a single chance throughout. Not exactly top quality football that. We couldn't move the ball around like we've been so used to watching this season. Bale played one of his worst games in a spurs shirt - he'll certainly wanna forget this one.

Jimmy Greaves, you barely comment on the match itself apart from....'Happy Days'. I think it's you who knows jack shit about football. Your post above was probably your longest ever - took a long time finding all those keys I bet.

Second time you've attacked me on this thread old man..... anything else you wanna have a go at?

No just re-iterate you know little about football and as you previously stated do not watch every game, unlike me. Without our first choice team available and our bench unrecognisable and playing away at Liverpool who are unbeatan at Anfield and our record of winning maybe twice in 90 years there in the league, it was going to be hard and the point was well well deserved and hard fought. You cannot go gung ho every game my dear boy it's not like tiddly winks, you need nowse to be in the top half of the table something I believe you lack and comes with experience. To say you expected Spurs to be playing flowing football was a dream in this away game considering the circumstances, no Harry there also to guide them! But we nearly nicked all 3 points.

Happy Days!

I expect our next away game against the Arsenal to be more attacking with some of the squad back, try and watch it and learn about 'the beautiful game'

'It was the worst game of footbal you've seen', I can imagine you have watched not a handful of games my dear boy! Happy Days :D 'Natural Goalscorer' shows what you know!

Just scanned a report on the game....

'The biggest talking point of the first half was the fact a cat came on the pitch and scooted around for a bit — which said it all about the excitement level.'

That's what I mean you know nothing bhoyyo. Excitement. Call yourself a spurs or even a football supporter. God help us!

I understand what ya getting at Jimmy - I do, but will have to agree to disagree. If that was our match plan from the start... to park the bus and allow Liverpool to play 80% of the game in our half and defend then.... I guess it went perfectly :|

Of course we can't always sweep the ball around like we have been in every game but we could at least try, couldn't we? We lacked everything this morning. IMHO it was our worst performance this season and the worst games of football I've watched (this season). Granted I've probably only seen 30 or 40 of the games hence the 'that I've watched' part of the sentence.

Only an opinion.

Sorry, but I'm with JG on this one - all you're doing is displaying a lack of appreciation (note I didn't use the word "ignorance" ) of the game as a whole, rather than just the fancy bits. Defensively, it was one of our best performances of the season - how many clean sheets have we kept?
As a long-standing Spurs fan, I tend to look for the positives whenever possible. There are far more of them around at the moment, so perhaps you're being spoiled, GCHQ?
Of course the game plan wasn't to park the bus, but with Lennon and VderV out, and Bale and Adebayor having an off day, Spurs did well to adapt to the circumstances and take a point. In previous years we'd have lost 3-0. Even with Carroll playing.
This is the way

Only seven shots on target between them, and lots of mis-placed passes, not very good for teams vying for a top four place. Carroll reminds me of a Sunday morning pub player, lumbering around the field with a total lack of skill or finesse, surely a £35 million player should be the finished article not a "prospect". Suarez was lucky to stay on the pitch after his blatant kick on Parker. I wonder if Spurs are entering their poor spell just in time for the run in to the end of the season. NB this is my opinion of the two teams last night so please let`s have no replies slagging off any other side.
