20 or so effusive comments from people saying how much they enjoyed it.

The Dictator

Image

This insulting RACIST propaganda wouldn't raise a laugh at the annual Polyanna reunion. The anti-Palestinian 'You Don't Mess With the Zohan' was bad enough. This was worse. It's all wearing a bit thin. How Ben Kingsley could lower himself to this humourless, sophomoric filth is beyond understanding.

It is NOT genuine satire but a vehicle bashing Muslims, Indians and Arabs. All hell would break loose if a white man's head was cut off in a black film. Written in praise of Israel, for a Zionist audience. It should have been aired in Tel Aviv and been strangled before it breached the Walls.

The only positive I take from this is that, like the rest of the sordid media, Sacha Baron Cohen's reputation will never recover.

No worries. MrS and I tend to lay it on a bit. Look forward to a 'normal' review of what you think.

THE CAMPAIGN

Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis star in this comedic take on US politics and elections, and it being so timely just adds to the comedy and allows the pair to slip in some very pointed roundhouse punches to the face of both sides of US politics and the shabby two bit tactics they employ on the trail.

Will plays a Democrat incumbent who has had 5 clear terms in office unchallenged. When he annoys the Koch Brothers like billionaires the Motch Brothers they decide to run their own candidate, and choose Marty Huggi (Zach), an oddball weirdo who can be easily manipulated, and team him up with a truly slimy campaign manager whose tactics are always underhand. Cam (Ferrell) doesn't help himself by being a serial philanderer who is as PC as Attila the Hun. As the campaign progresses the tactics get ever nastier and funnier....

Its a really good laugh with some sharp digs at politics, votes for sale, and all the hot topic issues with some full on laugh out loud scenes. Well recommended for raising a chuckle or three over a beer and some popcorn.

Out and about in lovely DVDRIP formats.

I watched 10 minutes of it and if it had been a DVD and not a download it would have gone in the bin

Just finished watching Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus'.

After studying hieroglyphics of all known civilizations on planet Earth, scientists realise they all have one underlying similarity - The dated pictures all have a figure pointing to the heavens.

Well luckily for us they (the scientists) have managed to pinpoint exactly where they were pointing *cue cryogenically frozen journey to this place*. Some on board are going for the money, some for the science and some to find out who their makers really are. One just doesn't want to die of old age and thinks whatever is there might help him.

Well surprise surprise whats actually on this planet doesn't really want anything to do with us. Role on massacre sprinkled with an alien pregnancy.

A pile of wank to put it politely. I VERY rarely don't enjoy a movie hence I'm a terrible critic but this was horrible. To see the first creepy crawlie ya gonna have to wait 1 hour and three minutes and the storyline doesn't offer any help with the wait.

A crystal clear copy of it here http://yify-torrents.com/movie/Prometheus_2012_1080p if you want to bother... I dunno - could be your kind of thing.

One I watched yesterday.

Stolen

Nicholas Cage is at it again making sure his 12 houses are out of the hands of the debt collectors.

Cage plays a bank robber who goes down for 8 years. Upon re-entering society people are pestering Cage about the missing 10 million dollars from the heist, none more so than his partner in crime at the time who decides he wants a piece of the pie and kidnaps his daughter. Now the cops aren't really helping Cage as you could imagine so he takes it into his own hands of course.

Not great but watchable. Crystal copy here http://yify-torrents.com/movie/Stolen_2012_1080p

Now here's one I missed from 2002 - an excellent Denzel Washington film.

John Q

I'm just gonna copy and paste this one...

John Quincy Archibald's son Michael collapses while playing baseball as a result of heart failure. John rushes Michael to a hospital emergency room where he is informed that Michael's only hope is a transplant. Unfortunately, John's insurance won't cover his son's transplant. Out of options, John Q. takes the emergency room staff and patients hostage until hospital doctors agree to do the transplant.

You know it aint gonna be a bad movie when Denzel's in it!

Next up for me tonight is a 2008 Drama/Mystery called Blindness

http://yify-torrents.com/movie/Blindness_2008_1080p

A city is ravaged by an epidemic of instant "white blindness". Those first afflicted are quarantined by the authorities in an abandoned mental hospital where the newly created "society of the blind" quickly breaks down. Criminals and the physically powerful prey upon the weak, hoarding the meager food rations and committing horrific acts. There is, however, one eyewitness to the nightmare. A woman whose sight is unaffected by the plague follows her afflicted husband to quarantine. There, keeping her sight a secret, she guides seven strangers who have become, in essence, a family. She leads them out of quarantine and onto the ravaged streets of the city, which has seen all vestiges of civilization crumble.

Will report back... :D

It looks pretty, some of it stunning infact.

But yeah, one of my biggest letdowns ever. I was hyped for this movie. TBH the 1st scene warned of the shite ahead.

Looper

Went to see the above at the cinema last night, so obviously not on DVD yet. However, a word of warning for anybody that might be thinking of downloading it when it is. The first 10 minutes is OK, and the last 5 minutes weren't too bad. However there's a 90 minute bit in the middle that had me wanting to poke my eyes out with a hot sword - it was abysmal.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED
