 not quite.
Henry is a legend & was world class player.

A bit like Saha, he's just a back up player on loan.
His presence at the club & in training is an added bonus, especially to the younger players.
I'm not quite sure what all the fuss is about.
No fuss from me, just thought it was a bit of an odd signing in the circumstances :|
If he comes off the bench & knocks in a few goals, i'm sure he'll be a quality signing, hopefully any goals he does score, will be consolation ones

You forgot to mention your other deadline day 'marquee' signing . . . Ryan Nelsen , that's an even stranger one :?

Thierry Henry is arguably the best player to ever play in the Premier League, certainly top 5, he's worth bringing in for moral alone. Imagine the buzz Ramsey and Chamberlain etc will get training with him?

I found the Saha signing odd, especially as Spurs shipped nobody out.
I'm not saying it's a bad signing, just a bit out of the blue.

Anyway, apparently Arry wanted Wilfred Zaha from QPR but we all know Arry can't write straight.

We're going for 3 records - oldest Premiership squad and most players on the injury list... :?
Make that 3 - the cheapest squad - at least Spurs can't be accused of flashing their cash!

BaaBaa - We've shipped a few out: Pav has gone back to Russia and Corluka to Germany (I think), Bassong and Pienaar on loan. I don't like Bassong much, but given the number of injuries we have, I'd have thought that was a risky one.
This is the way

A bit of info I picked up in the news. Pete

From :-

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16865250

"Arsenal fans are planning to use bin-bags to protest against the club's poor run of results. Fans will highlight the number of empty red seats at the Emirates during Saturday's match against Blackburn by covering them with black bin liners."

Says it all......................... :neener:

"Carlos Tevez's agents are believed to want to hold talks over a move from Manchester City to Russia, where the transfer window does not close for another three weeks. Oil-rich Anzhi Makhachkala are interested in the Argentina striker."

Carlos - you'd better have a word with Arshavin at the Arse.......He knows that the bench in England is warmer than in Russia

"Arsenal striker Andrey Arshavin, 30, is poised to turn down a Russian return with Anzhi Makhachkala, opting to remain (ON THE BENCH) at Arsenal."

Good games coming up we have

Liverpool away
Newcastle at home and
Away to the Arse

With a cup game in the middle of it all

Pivotal me thinks

COYS

England (or rather the media) do this before every major tournament. They've got a fall guy now, so maybe they'll back off now (did anybody see that pig fly by?).

Can't deny that, but the intention pre-tournament is to lower the team's morale.

Really? The FA took the decision and the London based media are the biggest England and John Terry flag wavers in the country.

Here's the FA statement.

This man should get the Captaincy.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. If the press hadn't already been so vociferous over this and other recent 'similar' incidents then the team would be going forward in a more stable state. I'm not denying neither the charge nor the punishment if it proved. It's just a fact that the media try (and succeed) to demoralise the team before every major tournament.

The earliest I can remember is the Bobby Moore shoplifting incident en-route to Mexico in 1970. The media in other countries support their teams. It obviously sells more papers in England when they are shaming the English team.

My fear is that this is too soon before the tournament. Riding on the back of this success, who knows who they are going to shame/set-up next?
