exchange rates low!

Post by miked »

Please don't shoot the messenger.!!
i have been a little concerned about the strengh of the thai baht this last week. i didn't think the fall was the normal up and down that you expect.
american express are giving the following forcast for the thai baht at october 2008.

30 thai baht us dollar.
54 thai baht sterling.
i hope that they have got it wrong. i like most of you depend on sterling in order to live here. its all to do with the credit crunch and the slowdown in the states, europe and the u.k.
as i say this is not my forcast so please don,t slag me off. i,m just trying to warn you of what might happen.

Big Boy,
i will have a merry christmas because the mighty Watford are top and next year premiership.
o.k. straight back down again, but just maybe this is the start of something big.

Yo Yo Yo, Merry Championship.

Better than the Saints though, all we've got to look forward to is Lowe Lowe Lowe, no investment.

1 - 0 to the Green Army

Unfortunately, I don't think Plymouth are big enough to go in to the Premiership, and if they were, they're aren't good enough yet.

As a Palace supporter, and former share holder, of many years - probably the only one in Hua Hin, and probably Thailand, I was pleased with the three points against Plymouth.

I supported Palace through their highs and lows, mainly there lows, even though I lived near Watford I didn't change my loyalty.

They will not get promoted to the Premiership, where they always struggle. but they look more comfortable in the Championship.

Oh the thread was about exchange rates, I fear that the Baht will continue to increase against other currencies next year, just hope the new government in Thailand don't think of new ways to scupper long stay visitors.

Shame really, but I suppose somebody had to do it :D

Seriously, you guys must have a great short-term future with what I consider to be one of the most honest managers around. I say short-term because despite his briliance, he usually falls out with his Chairman before he finishes the job.

Anyway, you were right - :offtopic:

Hi Big Boy

Looks like more than a normal fluctaction to me. Today the TT rate is down to 64. This will be hitting those who have pounds very hard and it is going down everyday. Let's hope!

I'm starting to think you may be right. The UK is predicting a further cut in interest rates later today - that'll probably make the Pound even less attractive.

I think I read this morning that the Pound is at a 10 year low against European currencies as well.

I must admit I don't really understand it all, but most news stories I'm reading suggest that the pound is going to encounter some turbulent weather this year.
Suppose I should really get around to doing the extension for my visa soon. HH Immigration will probably set their exchange rate for income at 50 to the pound soon

Looks like I got 65.57 from Barclays via ATM yesterday, but it's a bit difficult to tell with the charges they throw in. If I'd checked the internet yesterday, I would have got the actual rate as the fee and commission are added on the following day.
