A big shout out to Stoke City who have set their ticket prices for Plymouth Argyle's travelling fans to just £10 per adult and £5 for concessions!

The discounted ticket price for away fans will be some consolation for Argyle fans travelling up from South Devon for a match that kicks off at the ridiculous time of 12:30 pm on Saturday, the 4th of January!

Hats off to Stoke, though, a club that puts on free travel for every away game for their own fans and have frozen season ticket prices for the last 17 years!

That's how supporters should be treated.

They might have been “mates” when playing for England, but Lampard did Rooney no favours in orchestrating Coventry’s emphatic 4-0 win over Plymouth, leaving them firmly at the bottom of the table.

Rooney is going to need all the support he can get from the “Plymouth Family” that helps run the team.

Yes, with the team leaking so many goals, you do have to fear for Rooney's future. However, I don't think he is any danger at the moment. He is still beset with injury problems. His main striker again yesterday was a debutant from the u.18 side. It is literally boys against men at the moment.

He is promising a lot of transfer window activity, so that will be the real test. If he continues with similar results after the new players arrive, the fans may want blood. They are still remaining very faithful at the moment. I agree, at a regular club, he would have been axed several weeks ago.

I'd like to use the old cliché, 'the only way is up', but League 1 is most definitely down.

Staying on the Rooney theme, the Green Army have written themselves into the record books.........

No team in Championship history has conceded more goals after 22 games than Plymouth Argyle (49).

Mind you, things could have been worse..............

Wayne Rooney has a win percentage of just 21%, which is only the second lowest in his managerial career. In his stint at Birmingham he recorded just 13%. So things are getting better (not much opportunity for dancing chilly peppers this season).

Arise Sir Gareth - as had been widely predicted, Gareth Southgate gets a Knighthood in the New Years Honours lists - some will say he’s been rewarded for failure, although to be fair, he came mightily close!!

Pound for pound, I think his record as an England manager is second to none. I'm not saying I liked a lot of what he did, but his record is excellent. Of all of the international managers in the world, how many others equaled his record over the same period he was in charge? Which other England manager has had similar success without being knighted?

Yes even Sir Alf was really only remembered for winning the 1966 World Cup - he didn’t fair so well in the European or 1970 World Cup, so if you consider winning the World Cup as the pinnacle, Southgate must rank as the 2nd most successful England Manager ever.
