I agree they were deserved winners, but I didnt think they played that well. Defensively, they were often a shambles and a better team than Leeds currently are, would have pinned them back much more. Most teams don't play like Leeds, who play an open, attacking game and United have the players to exploit that.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 10:43 am After some recent lack-lustre performances, Man Utd played well yesterday and came out deserved winners 2-4 against Leeds in a highly entertaining game.

Not so unusual for lost to go AWOL for a little while - did send him a PM a week or so ago but haven't heard back.thecolonel wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 11:59 pm Er where is Lost btw?

The point I was trying to make was that it was an improved performance over what they’d showed in previous weeks with many questioning many of the players desire to wear a red shirt. As an example, Sancho had a pretty good game and showed numerous touches of skill - maybe it needed a team like Leeds to help bring about an improved performance.caller wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 10:31 pmI agree they were deserved winners, but I didnt think they played that well. Chelsea's blood money is finally catching up with them.
New contracts
Buy players
Sell merchandise
Sell tickets
Sell club
To say I'm devastated for them is an understatement.

Re: Premier League 2021-22
I think we have to wait and see how this pans out, Some of the announcements make no sense and seem to be hurried. Apparantly, the FA only got 15 minutes notice.
To travel to away games at a cost of less than 20k per team means that we can't play in Europe. I'm sure that's not the intention. To stop fans attending games makes no sense, as that money doesn't go to Abramovich in any case. It pays costs and as he is sanctioned in any case, he won't get it.
So far, pretty much everything seems to be harming the club and it's fans not Abramovich, which seems odd.
Apparntly, the Govt, are still open to permit the club to be sold. That should bring the price down. Talk of holding a special account for the sale money to be paid into and held, pending dictribution. Apparantly, current contributions by Abramovich are about 90m per year, which in the grand scheme of thing isn't that much really. This is because for a few years now, the priority has been for the club to live within their means.
The big bugger is losing players if new contracts can't be offered.
There is still a lot more to sort out. Chelsea are a big international business and I doubt the understanding of the scale of the business and the impact of Governments actions have even been thought about yet.

Re: Premier League 2021-22
That was my thought after reading the initial reports - to penalise the club as a whole and fans seems a tad ridiculous - at to say only 15 minutes notice given? Not well thought through at all. Unfortunately the latter seems to becoming a trend with the UK government these days....

Re: Premier League 2021-22
The Govt has now said the club can still be sold, that's one major change already. The club have stated they will engage with the Government regarding the rest of the terms. I mean Eufa have a stake in this as well. Not sure how Chelsea can travel to Lille on 20k for next weeks Champions League game.
In fairness to the Govt. this is a completely new situation, but they would have been better stating that full details will be announced in due course.

Just stoopid busy at the minute.

I think there may have been slightly more sympathy for Chelsea fans had a large bunch of them not decided to chant Roman Abramovich's name during a moment's applause for the Ukrainian people last match.

Re: Premier League 2021-22
Well, obviously geared to Abramovich and Chelsea as a consequence, mabey better posted here.
With the UK government sanctioning Abramovich, Chelsea have face massive financial issues - it has now been said that the UK government will provide £110 million so Chelsea can complete the season/pay players and staff. The government are also pushing for a quick sale of the club @ + £2 Billion! Abramovich can obviously not take anything from this and must write off £1.5 Billion in loans..... Where the f*ck does this money actually go? To the UK government, are his other assets simply frozen, what about promises (maybe false) from Abramovich to aid Ukraine from the sale of the club?
This whole issue does highlight an incredible stat - a wage bill of £28 MILLION PER MONTH. Dear God, surely we can now put huge wage caps on Wendyball - abolutley fecking ludicrous!!

He never promised any aid to Ukraine, only to victims of the conflict (don't think he used the word "war" either). He didn't specify the nationality of those victims.pharvey wrote:... what about promises (maybe false) from Abramovich to aid Ukraine from the sale of the club?
