Yeah, but the other thing to be aware of is that this is not a new technique. Using tobacco plants to grow vaccines or medications is a technology that has been around for years now.

For instance, as you may recall, ZMapp, the first antibody cocktail used successfully against the Ebola virus in 2015/6, was developed using tobacco plants, and had been in development for several years already before that

The good thing about using tobacco, as the article points out, "is that it can be grown almost anywhere in the world at low cost."

Yes, I know - my comment was actually aimed more at the earlier post that described this as Thailand being at the forefront of a new method of vaccine production.

Well in terms of Covid vaccines, it seems to be up there near the top so I thought it deserved publicity - it’s not often that Thailand is amongst the leaders in medical developments. I appreciate that you know a 1000 times more than I do about the subject!!

Sorry if I sounded harsh - you're entirely right it deserves publicity. It's a welcome development and important in many ways because as the article points out it's a method well-suited to lower-income countries. It allows them to develop their own vaccines relatively quickly, easily and cheaply and break their dependence on foreign-developed vaccines.

It's just not new, is all.

I could argue that I didn’t actually say that the method of vaccine production was new, because I added the words “to treat Covid including the Omicron strain”. Although I know there are other countries doing similar trials (Canada for one), I thought it was significant enough to mention that Thailand (for a change) was up there leading the fight against Covid. Anyway, we don’t need to argue over who is right or wrong as it’s both of us, or neither. Merry Christmas

Seems like a lot of people are scheduled for vaccination at Bluport today. Went in this morning and quite a crowd with more arriving so I will go back in the afternoon when it is hopefully quieter.

Was a lot quieter this afternoon, a steady stream of people but it was well organized and only a short wait. I was scheduled for a Pfizer second jab but was told it would now be Moderna. All sorted now, just got to get the vaccine passport. ASL I used my passport as ID will that work on the Mor Prom app? What is the easiest way to get it. Can anyone advise or supply a link.

Thanks in advance.

That's the app, but what unique identifier will he register the app with?

I have some friends asking me the same question, and I think it will need a separate trip to HHH.
