The match statistics suggest that Liverpool just had the edge,

Home Team Tottenham Away Team Liverpool

Possession - Home 44% Away 56%
Shots - Home 10 Away 18
Shots on Target - Home 5 Away 6
Corners - Home 6 Away 4
Fouls - Home 12 Away 11

Can't find the stat now but on 'big chances' created (as in
did/should have scored) Spurs had 5 or 6 to Liverpool's 2.

We should have won that game. But... Harry definitely could have got a red card in line with the rules of the game. Very chuffed with the tackle though. Couldn't have landed that challenge on a nicer person. The fact Robertson got sent off for a less dangerous though more emotional challenge a bit later was icing on the cake. Fkin brilliant.

And this is why it was brilliant. Robertson, the little Scottish oik involved, previously performed this ACTUAL leg breaker of a challenge on a standing (key point) leg to one of ours. He stayed on the field. Karma.

Nope, you're not buddy. We should have scored five or six, them two. :D

Edit: I'm going to change that to 4 or 5. I feel I may be exaggerating with 6.

Although Spurs might have had more clear cut chances, Robertson should have scored after 60 seconds when he put a header just wide, so that would have been at least 3 goals for Liverpool. Anyway, it ended 2-2 so there’s nothing else to say.

The Harry Kane tackle in question. Unlike Robertsons challenge out of emotion... he was going for the ball. But Robertson successfully nicked it before Harry got there. So Harry caught him on the shin.

Could have been sent off for it, yes. If it was a standing leg, he would have been sent off no questions asked.

Has the Referee or VAR made a poor decision? (@PoorEPLreferees) Tweeted:
Yes, that should be a red card for Harry Kane https://t.co/orHOKQsamE

You're right actually, expected him to bury that. Don't know why that wasn't counted in the stats as a 'big chance'. That would have definitely changed the atmosphere in the stadium.

Harry's interview after with Sky was funny, too.

"I've not watched it back but I'm pretty sure I got the ball. Surprised I got a yellow."

Good lad, Harry.

I'm a little surprised about all the focus on Harry Kane's challenge. An unintentional foul. Why isn't the focus on the obvious filthy cheat that is Salah? He knew he wasn't getting his head to the ball so stuck a sly arm out to cushion it. And they went on to score from his deliberate hand ball. Deserves a retrospective one game ban at least, that.

We all have our opinions, this is just one!!

Former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg has criticised the officiating in Tottenham's draw with Liverpool on Sunday, saying Andy Robertson is "lucky to be walking".

The left-back was on the end of a strong studs-up tackle from Harry Kane.

Referee Paul Tierney only gave a yellow card and Robertson was later shown a straight red for a foul on Emerson Royal that was reviewed by VAR.

"I think Kane's tackle's worse than Robertson's," said Clattenburg

I mentioned Spurs' songs not so long ago. How they were a bit naff. Well I'm glad to see this is changing.

One major change we've seen in Tottenham, the game yesterday included, is the work rate under Conte. Under Nuno we were bottom of the league for average distance run. Now we're top. No team has covered more distance than us in a game.

What we like to see. 💪

Most boxing day games are getting cancelled. Total bollocks. Palace have just cancelled the Tottenham game tomorrow apparently because they have TWO BACKROOM staff with covid.

It's becoming a joke now. Total joke.
