The Interrogation of Tony Martin (2018)

A verbatim drama focusing on the 3 days farmer Tony Martin was questioned by police following the shooting of a 16 year old burglar who broke into his farmhouse in 1999. A story that split the nation. Was it self defence or murder?

Watched this last night,,good solid cast and brought back memories of how this case split a nation at the time.

Code 404
30min | Action, Comedy, Crime

A British detective killed in action is brought back to life using experimental Artificial Intelligence.

Judging from the reviews a bit of a Marmite series.

Had me chortling even with Stephen Grahams annoying Scouse accent  :duck:

Again I'm a complete novice with those sites

I had a look but is it 'safe' and can I watch without a VPN?

Sorry to be thick

In these troubled times I do not want to watch anything too challenging. I have found 2 that are so relaxing, I am sure that you British guys are well aware of them. The first "All the Stations" a strange but entertaining concept in which a delightful young couple travel by train to every Railway station in Britain. The young lady who is a gem, explores one of the towns that they have stopped in, in each episode. The other in which a team of archiologists led by "Tony Robinson (Baldrick) excavate sites all over the uk, each "dig" taking only 3 days. The excitement shown by some very eccentric professionals when they find the slightest remnant of historical significance is fun to watch.

Hidden (BBC Wales)
Hidden (Welsh: Craith) is a Welsh television drama serial, created by Mark Andrew and Ed Talfan. It was initially broadcast in Welsh on the Welsh-language channel S4C under its Welsh name Craith. The bilingual version of the series, under the English name Hidden, was broadcast on BBC One Wales and BBC Four. Two series have aired, in 2018 and 2019.

From Bangor, overlooking the churning waters of the Menai Straits, to the abandoned quarries of Llanberis, this is a landscape DCI Cadi John knows well. A world she never expected to return to. Drawn back for personal reasons - the faltering health of her beloved father - Cadi finds herself policing the precinct and people of her youth.

Leading actress Sian Reese-Williams commented that the series was more of a "personal drama" than a crime series, because of the multiple human stories involved, including those of the victims, the families of the victims, and the criminal protagonist.

The English version is, at a guess, about 66% English 33% Welsh (with subtitles obviously). An intriguing story, well told and beautifully acted, in a beautiful landscape. I'm not a great fan of subtitles, but for some reason I'm enjoying listening to the Welsh (cue pharvey...).

Well worth a look in my view, tho I've only watched the first couple of episodes so far. I'm watching it on iPlayer.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I've always found the Welsh accent extremely sexy (only in women, pharvey...), also that the weather has been suspiciously good in this series - not a drop of rain so far.
This is the way

Two of the best series I've seen this year( after Better Call Saul of course) are..

After Life Season 2...Ricky Gervais' masterpiece IMO. Take a look at the outtakes

White Lines on Netflix but available for download at the usual suspects

Enjoy

I'm enjoying White Lines, as I have everything you have like/recommended Sateeb(was it you who told me watch White House Farm and Interrogation? Both very good indeed)

But what you, and the rest of the entire world, see in Afterlife is absolutely beyond me! I thought it was bang average to be honest...

And its not as if I dislike RG, thought his Oscars speeches were great etc

But that said, I appreciate the tips so keep 'em coming please! ImageImage

With Afterlife i kind of empathise with the character he plays. It might have been even better if there had been a role for Stephen Merchant.

Season 3 confirmed. I didn't think he could pull off a 2nd Season.

Another good drama and filmed partly in my old stomping grounds of Bury and Ramsbottom.

We all have secrets. Based on the novel by Harlan Coben, The Stranger forces us to confront a question we all fear - how well do we really know the people closest to us? Starring Richard Armitage, Jennifer Saunders, Siobhan Finneran and Hannah John-Kamen,

Thanks for that, Sateeb.
It's on HDPrime in it's entirety (8 episodes). I'll start watching that later today. The trailer looks good.

Just picked up on this  Remember it well. Close for me in a way as friend a year earlier had come home to find a burglar in the house with his partner and two young daughters (all sleeping). He beat the living cr@p out of the guy and was sentenced to 12 months (out in 6). Totally wrong in my book.....

Will have to have a look at this one.

On a more positive note....

Thoroughly enjoying "The Stranger", not yet started on "White Lines", but have heard good things and will give it a go.
