I was hoping the article would give some insight into the thinking behind this curfew. It doesn't. The times seem odd to me. With bars, restaurants, entertainment venues,etc. closed, who goes out after 10pm?

I don't know, but many places are open until 2am serving food. That's a lot of people working in restaurants, food stalls and the like and those on bikes. My other half's messenger at her work in Bkk puts a shift in after the day job and is earning 800 baht a night.

Attached below is the latest local order. I've put it through my translator, and there are 3 highlights that I can identify:

• Prachuap has now caught up with the rest, and restrictions are in place until 30 April.

• Water sports such as kite surfing, jet skiing, etc are now on the prohibited list.

• This extract concerns me - Article 4. To foreigners. (Excluding foreign migrants from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar) who have traveled to Prachuap Khiri Khan province since March 25, 2020 and report to the district hospital or designated by the local sheriff from April 3-10. Except those who are under detention or who receive a certificate confirming that they have been screened by the district office.

I'm guessing new arrival foreigners will need to carry some sort of paperwork to show they've been screened. My concern is if stopped, how will they know when I arrived in the province?

Can one of the clever guys who can read Thai, please confirm my translation is correct, and my understanding of Article 4 is correct, or provide a better translation if not.

2. All sensitive area changed end of closing date from 7 April 2020 to 30 April 2020

3.2 No kitesurfing, Jetski, Banana Boat, other water sports and group activities on beach.
4. Foreigners who entry Prachuab Khiri Khan province after 14 March 2020 have to report at District Hospital where your accomodation located between 3 - 10 April 2020

That one is a bit baffling, so they want farangs to congregate en-masse at local hospitals - who have issued their own order for people to stay away.

Officers led by Lt Col Wattanawong Kongtun raided the party, held on the second floor of a house on Srirat Rd on the south side of Patong, at 10pm.

At the scene officers arrested nine foreigners, named as follows:

Officers also found a small resealable plastic bag containing about 0.94 grammes of cocaine alongside a credit card on a sofa in the bedroom of the house. Placed on the table inside the bedroom was about 2.16g of compressed dry cannabis wrapped in paper. A further 1.88g of dry marijuana was found in an opaque plastic bag in Rip Curl shoulder bag.

The revellers were taken to Patong Police Station and charged with a variety on charges, including drugs possession and breach of health regulations issued under the current state of emergency to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The police report of the bust pointed out that the person responsible for hosting the party was also among those charged.
