but i think we are about to get slamed with a wall of water in HH.

look at the loop and the giant mass that is forming to the east and moving due west very fast directly at HH:

Sorry to say you are wrong as my sky is clear - all these bloody maps etc are too confusing, but I did not take a degree in weather!

interesting as a narrow channel opened up as this huge mass of rain crossed the gulf. it passed just to the north and south of HH but as usual HH remained clear. It is raining in BKK and many parts of Thailand now. my friends are saying heavy rain. Some light rain starting here in Khao Takiab now.

It's been raining here in the east since 2000 hours last night. Some steady with periods of downpour. It must be raining in HH by now as that's the direction everything is going. Pete

I do not know where you are coming from with this. April and May are the most uncomfortable weather months and this year has been the hottest for 80 years and also experienced the longest heatwave for 65 years ( as reported ) !!
I`m from where the daily saying is "There is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing" plus a few years down in the Southern provinces of Thailand.

My wife said the rain reached us about 2.00 am this morning and a fair downpour by all accounts.

Underwater City: Bangkok flooded, traffic paralyzed

Many photos at link. I think we'll be starting a "Floods of 2016" thread soon. Pete

Not for Hua Hin I shouldn't think - still not seen a decent shower this year yet.

I must have been engrossed in a brilliant football match :banghead:

Actually, after the big build up, I kept glancing outside. Yes, there was rain, but not as heavy as we'd normally expect it, and certainly not as heavy as James' build up led to me to believe. Of course, i understand a light shower in one part of Hua Hin can be an absolute deluge in other parts.

I've just come back from Black Mountain, and the dried up lakes are still dried up lakes, or little puddles.

Just wanted to give a comparison, 113 degrees F, or 45 C, here in southern Calfornia. Glad I'm headed back to "cooler" Thailand next week

I will not argue with yours about rain or bad weather in Hua Hin, but one of the reason I moved on after 2 years Hatyai, 1 year Trang (Btw, lovly place) and 3 years in Phuket was the rain season. Down here in Hua Hin its not only predictable through weather forecasts but also easier to judge and estimate when bad weather hit us with a look out the window now and then, and not to forget its much less rain coming and not that hard. Actually and following metrological statistics only half of the rain falling in Phuket over a year also pour down in Hua Hin. Anyway its all a plus in my opinion.
