^ Nope....nothing happening yet. Pete

Edit: Just wait a day or so as that cyclone heading northeast into Bangla and Burma is pushing a lot of stuff our way.

Meteorological Department warns of Cyclone Roanu in Thailand
Cyclone Roanu will bring heavy rains to most parts of Thailand and stir the Andaman Sea as it looks set to move towards Myanmar this weekend.

The Meteorological Department has forecast for today that northern Thailand will be showered with heavy rains due to strong southwesterly winds from Cyclone Roanu which looks set to hit Myanmar and the coast of Bangladesh today and tomorrow.

The North, Northeast, Central, East and upper South regions of the country will have a greater chance of heavy rains, so people in these areas are being warned of possible dangers of the rainstorm.

The cyclone will cause rough seas in the Andaman Sea and the upper part of the Gulf. Owners of small boats have been told to avoid going out to sea next week due to the tidal waves which might be up to three meters high.

Cyclone Roanu is currently in the Bay of Bengal and headed in a northeasterly direction at about 20 kilometers an hour. Winds near the eye of the storm are moving at about 75 kilometers per hour.

Yes, see below satellite link. It is almost upon Hua Hin and vicinity and your rain totals are now predicted at 31mm+ today. You'll get hit before I do here in the east. Enjoy! :D Pete

Useless statistic of the day:

Annual rainfall in Thailand amounts to 13,500 tons of water per annum for every man woman and child in the kingdom.

- Hanging on to enough of that to see the population through the dry season, should hardly be rocket science..

My wife told me that the King is trying to help farmers to dig lakes to catch more water. Certainly needed. Cost of hiring a digger and dump trucks is high if you don't have a good market for selling the soil.

I know weather forecasting isn't an inexact science, but they are really blowing it this time. They've been predicting storms for days, and large accumulations, and as I speak the moon and stars are shining brightly. If something doesn't happen this morning, back to watering the garden this afternoon. :banghead: Pete

Had a fantastic thunder storm last night in Nakhon Pathom - is this the start? Nice to hear the frogs happily singing, and a there's been a lovely freshness in the air today.
