Re: The Rugby Thread
Indeed they have - several actually, but the big one was "The HIT" being made unlawful. Adam Jones was a master of it and used it to great effect during his career - whilst he was in his twilight years at the time of the rule changes, it really did end his career.arcadianagain wrote:These articles were published in 2011, I thought the laws on setting a scrum had changed since then. All said however, the scrum (and especially the Front-Row) can be the Dark Arts.....

Totally agreed, but I wonder how those big young lads in the opposition feel about tackling him? He must get away with murder!

My son plays for a mixed age club in Sydney against other similar clubs, the over-50`s wear red shorts and cannot be the victims of full tackles!

Personally, I think it's superb. I have a dodgy knee, a dodgy shoulder and would love to play - not going to happen..arcadianagain wrote:My son plays for a mixed age club in Sydney against other similar clubs, the over-50`s wear red shorts and cannot be the victims of full tackles!

Re: The Rugby Thread
The All Blacks fixtures for the year. They're really starting to talk up the Wales matches in June. The All Blacks are more or less an unknown going into this season. I can't see them being as dominant as in years past until this new unit plays together for a year or two, and a new leader on the field shows what he's made of. Who that may be I have no idea at the moment. All in all I think Wales have a good shot at this. Pete

Although he wasn`t allowed to tack the over-50`s he was nailed by 60+ Islander and finished up with torn ankle ligaments.pharvey wrote:Personally, I think it's superb. Going to the Congo for work next month and have already arranged a bit of a kick about with the kids around the mine site.

Re: The Rugby Thread
Once again, Wales have players out and despite what certain fellow countrymen of mine believe, we don't have that strength in depth. This is no excuse or whining - we have to play the best to try and get there and this is a great opportunity to "blood" a few players - although you don't want to scare the cr@p out of them and see them heavily beaten. BUT regardless of what people are saying with the loss of top players - The Blackness will still be the best for years to come IMHO - they are THE class act. I shall however be full of belief...... I am a Welshman after all!!prcscct wrote:The All Blacks fixtures for the year. They're really starting to talk up the Wales matches in June. Kieran Read is the new captain and it's never been in doubt - he's been shown the ropes for the last 2 seasons..... this is why NZ are the best, they blood players, bring on captains - they take things professionally in the extreme.. and I bow to it
