Is JC actually facing an assult charge? If so, it would be premature to sack him in advance of a trial and verdict.

And the BBC are carrying an article about TV personality Alan Partridge replacing him and a week ago Chris Evans name was mentioned. No doubt he will now end up with a rap on the knuckles and be back to work soon.

A lot of conflicting reports, and other issues.... It's anyone's guess on where it's going to end, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Clarkson, May and hamster going elsewhere and setting up anew.

1. JC now getting his lawyers in over "slurs" made by senior Beeb staff..... "Jeremy Clarkson came out fighting against the BBC last night following ‘insider’ briefings which compared him to serial paedophile Jimmy Savile.
The Top Gear host instructed lawyers to demand an immediate retraction from the Corporation after the scurrilous allegations were spread by highly-placed BBC sources.
Clarkson is also seeking a full investigation into the identity of the BBC executive who leaked the groundless smear."

Relations certainly not looking good......

2. "Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May were forced to grab him during the alleged attack on a show producer, a source has said.
In Oisin Tymon's statement to the BBC inquiry, the producer has told how the only witnesses were Top Gear’s other hosts.
One source explained: “It happened outside the hotel, with just the four of them there.
"When Jeremy hit Oisin, Richard and James grabbed him to stop him from going in again. "Afterwards, they seemed shocked and stayed with Oisin, asking if he was OK, while Clarkson returned to the bar.” "
...... This after May insisting he wasn't present at the "fracas". :tsk:

3. "Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has hinted that the time may have come for him to leave the show.
Writing in his column for The Sun, he says that the day must come when you "wave goodbye to the big monsters".
"I don't intend to dwell here on what happened then or what will happen in the future," he says. "I'm sure you're as fed up with the story as I am."
Clarkson was suspended by the BBC earlier this week after reports of a "fracas" with producer Oisin Tymon.
The show has been taken off-air while the BBC carries out an investigation into the allegations."

4. And after much pointing towards the end of the show (at least in it's current format and presenter(s))....... "Jeremy Clarkson suspended: BBC Worldwide says Top Gear Live event in Norway on Friday, March 27 is still scheduled to go ahead and tickets are still for sale. The BBC has said a Top Gear Live event in Norway next week is "still scheduled to go ahead" with Jeremy Clarkson as its star.
Despite postponing the three remaining episodes of this series of Top Gear, BBC Worldwide, the corporation's commercial arm, is still selling tickets for four live shows in Stavanger on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28."

I'd be interested in seeing where Clarkson stands legally with regards to the BBC and BBC "Worldwide". The Beeb use the BS of 2 seperate companies/legal entities when looking at license fees etc., but will they do so when it doesn't suit them?!

What I cannot understand is: the "fracas" reportedly occured "outside a Hotel". So a couple of *wats get half charged and it leads to a punch up. So, WTF has it got to do with the BBC?

Surely it is a "civil" matter that the agrieved party can lodge a charge with the police, or whoever it is in the UK that deals with such matters. If it had been me that he "assaulted" would the BBC have suspended him? I think not, or at least not until I had had him charged under the law, if in fact he could be charged! :?

I don't know, but as a Civil Servant, I knew a senior grade charged with repeatedly making a nuisance of himself down the local pub when under the influence. Actions not becoming of an officer.

He was posted elsewhere as a result.

Ah, inactive posts in the UK Civil Service! :rasta:

But seriously, Clarkson is not a Civil Servant. If the fracas had taken place in a BBC studio, fair enough.

Surely gross misconduct? If true, it has everything to do with the BBC as his employers. Aside from that, he can be up on an assault charge - again deservedly so if true. If I slapped a work colleague, I'm fairly sure I would be out of the door fairly quickly. As I mentioned earlier however, it will be interesting to see where the BBC or BBC Worldwide stand.

To me I have a love/hate bit with the guy. He's talented and deserves respect for that, but incredibly arrogant and seems to believe he deserves to be on a higher plateau than us mere mortals.... something that pisses me off in the extreme.

Anywho, stuff Top Gear - all the best for Welsh rugby tomorrow!!

Well the BBC are as usual being a bunch of hypocritical twatts - they have 'suspended' series 22 of the show over this fiasco - but today they happily showed two episodes this afternoon from series 12 on BBC Knowledge and are advertising the showing of the Argentinian episode next Monday night.
