Just a reminder that Vana Nava Hua Hin City re-commence their promotion campaign this coming Sunday with an away match against RAJPRACHA BTU; the team they had to beat by 2 clear goals to go into the mid-season break at the top of the league.

I've been trying to follow developments during the break, and we seem to have signed 3 or 4 players to strengthen the side in their quest for the league title.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow and hopefully the team can get back to winning ways. It looks like my wife has persuaded her brother and some of his work colleagues to come along to support Hua Hin, even though her cousin, Bom, plays for the opposition. Come on Lads!!!

Vana Nava Hua Hin City 0 - 0 Rajapruk Muangnont United

Sorry this is late, but the match clashed with my wife's birthday party.

What an awful game. I don't think there was more than 2 shots on target all game. Hua Hin were trying to walk the ball into the net. My son summed it up nicely afterwards, "It was like watching England, they played some pretty football, but it was always one pass too many.

A few observations:

- New goalie looked OK, apart from one absolute howler. It releases Shota to go back and become a Scottish goalkeeper. A shame really, because now he's learnt to catch the ball he was quite good.

- No 17, Toure. I think he's new. Imagine having Hemile Heskey in your side, but not quite as good. Big, but very Heskyesque (carthorse comes to mind. If it wasn't for the fact he was playing for the team I was supporting, I'd have found it laughable when they moved him to the wing :?

No 23, Sarawut. Absolutely abysmal yesterday. I assume he likens himself to Beckham, and has taken his Real Madrid number. If he's going to carry on taking free kicks, they'll have to get some larger goals. At least Anucha knows where the goal is.

No 8, Anucha. Best forward we have. So where did we play him? Midfield - what a waste. He made some fantastic passes, but without him up front, we only had Toure and Kissana up front, and neither seemed up to the striker's role.

I could go on, but it would only be more depressing stuff. I think you get the idea.

Full marks to the new cheerleading section - spent most of the match looking at the crowd, trying to rouse some enthusiasm - a very difficult job.

I hate to agree with Big Boy and say that was truly awful. They could have played all week and not had a shot at goal. As usual the only one worth his pay packet was our big centre half - Lamptey. He was a rock at the back. The Number 35 needs to know how to defend. Anucha was woeful and just was not interested at all. I was watching the coach walking around his technical area appearing to be as clueless as the players as to what to do. If he goes to a hardware shop and buys a 3 meter pole and buy a big hook to put at one end of it that should maybe give him an idea. There were 6 or 7 of them that should have been "hooked". We had substitutes so why did we not use them? I suggest a bit of shooting practice aswell. We had a family member playing for the opposition and he remarked last night that he gets a third of the salary that our guys are on and his club shirt has absolutely no sponsorship advertising on it but I can get one in XXXL that I cannot seem to get in Hua Hin colours. I have an XXL one but I cannot hold my breath for 2 hours while watching that drivel yesterday. There were far bigger guys than me sitting in the crowd yesterday so where do they get their shirts?? Hold on guys it is going to get a bit rocky over the next month or so!!!

The trick is to get your XXL shirt turned into a XXXL shirt. Go to any tailors shop and buy half a metre of white shirt cloth. Take it with your shirt to a dress repairer. Tell her what you want, and she will widen your shirt. Material cost 50 Baht, widening cost 50 Baht - done in a day. PM me if you want to know more.

I noticed that the megaphone that the Cheerleader was using was as useless as the Hua Hin strike force yesterday. Had the batteries run out or had he forgot to switch it on!! The poor guy sang himself hoarse but the best bit was he didn`t have to watch a single minute of the match. I think I will have to try this next time!! Why did he hand out song sheets for the Thai supporters but nothing for the farang supporters?

On occasions I sit way across the other side, away from the cheerleaders.
