Shocking decision.....Croatia will feel hard done by and would have probably got a draw if it wasnt for that and their poor keeper.
But an excellent game to get the tournament underway,nevertheless......

I'm enjoying the Mexico - Cameroon game, Mexico are doing really well, they're 2-0 up at half time.

Or should be. Sadly they have the most incompetent linesman in the whole of the Southern Hemisphere against them, who somehow has managed to flag against both goals. The 1st for offside when there wasn't one and he'll have to explain the 2nd one, as only he will be able to. Absolutely shocking.

Spain 1 Netherlands 5
I dont think many people would have seen that coming. If Spain dont beat Chile in their next match the defending champions could well be out.

That was the best game I've seen in years - Holland took them apart. Nearly had kittens though when I couldn't find it on Expat TV at 2am - until I clicked the BBC channel!

Excellent game. The Dutchmen really gave it to the Spaniards. Robben, van Persie - second to one.

Another penalty that wasn't one. Should have been 0-5 but I can live with 1-5 too.

Spanish defence were absolutely dire, VPs header must be a contender for goal of the tournament.

Two problems for England at half-time: Joe Hart and Leighton Baines.

The groundsman is out to give the pitch a fresh lick of paint for the second-half.

What odds for the physio coming on as sub and winning the game in the 89th minute??

The surface is showing signs of wear and tear, with definite bald patches appearing down the middle. Wayne's gonna need another hair implant

Am I being optimistic by saying that we looked fairly good in patches?
Still lost.

No, I think you're right - we played pretty well, just not quite well enough. Having said that, Italy didn't look like potential finalists to me.

Sterling had a really good game, but Rooney once again managed to look very ordinary in an England shirt. If he hadn't missed a sitter in the 2nd half...

Still room for hope of progression though.
This is the way
