Someone more famous than Peter Stringfellow (is a remarkable feat on it's own) and has some affinity to the colours black and blue .... a boxer or a member of the Royal Family (UK) ?

Getting there...

You almost got it previously regarding the colour so I'll explain.

The Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 1/Mark 3 (84-86) were all, except 1, painted diamond white in the factory. The 1 exception was black and it was owned by the famous person. There were 3 red cars but these were painted after purchase.

Surely not super-green plant-whisperer Prince Charles, maybe Prince Andrew, he was a bit flash but Prince Edward would surely have preferred a lighter shade, pink perhaps.

I'll go for Prince Andrew.

Drat and double drat !

I never even considered a woman. I probably wouldn't have guessed Diana anyway as I only remember her having some dreadful brown Metro and a see through skirt.

Do you know why she wanted a black and blue one in particular ? (sounds like the start of a joke)

The car left the factory without all the RS trim (skirts, spoiler etc.), looking exactly like an XR3i, this charade was the reason it was painted black. I don't know why, if she wanted to 'blend in' taking the RS stickers of the side would have helped!

Blending in by having your own custom paint job ?
Although I suppose an XR3i with RS stickers would make most petrol heads think .... 'loser' rather than 'covert Royal carrying sleeper' but it's a very small distinction for the general public (and terrorists).

I spotted one of these recently and was amazed by the features and design of the car. It may be easy for some of you, but I do not remember seeing one.

That was quick - not sure of the exact year, but early 60's. I can't find the history to this exact car and whether it was put there decades ago and grew up with the tree?
