Liverpool 3 Manchester City 2
Wow,what a game ! Liverpool dominant in the first half then City score two in the first 15 minutes of the second half and look likely winners.
Then a superb finish by Coutinho to give Liverpool a victory they just about deserved.
Talking points.....Skrtel clearly punched the ball in the area but this was offset by Kompany holding Suarez back by the waist when clean through. Both incidents were missed by referee,Clattenburg, and the officials.
Liverpool, maybe, favourites for the title now ?
I just hope Baa Baa was allowed to watch the game in his room at The Priory.....he would be a proud man tonight !

Justice for the 96.....a disgrace this has still not happened after 26 years.Opening up the Leppings Lane enclosure was a tragic error of judgement but not malicious.
What is disgusting is the police cover up afterwards.....changing statements, looking if any of the deceased
had criminal records etc.
Quite a few of the officers involved in this cover up retired on fat cat pensions.....time they were brought to justice ! :guns:
We're all on our uppers,we're all going skint,
I used to suck fat cigars but now I suck Polo mints.

Yes, it was a cracking game. It comes to something when I approach a game like this with more eager anticipation than I watch my own team these days... :(

It really was a classic 'game of two halves'.
Although, there was an element of luck to their equalising goal, I thought City would go on to win as they had all the momentum and Liverpool seemed to have lost the will to live - after a magnificent 1st half.
Having said that, given the circumstances I was quite happy for Liverpool to win and hope they will pip City and Chelsea to the title.

HOWEVER... they can consider themselves very fortunate that Suarez did not get a 2nd yellow early in the 2nd half for a disgraceful, and very blatant, dive - not his first. Why Clattenburg didn't give it only he can say.

During the 1st half I could not make up my mind whether Liverpool were outstanding or City were poor......

City upped the Anti and I thought deserved to draw level......

Liverpool then dug deep..... Regained the upper hand..... And IMO deserved to take the 3 points.....

At the start of the season I did not think that Liverpool had a prayer this season..... How wrong I was..... And I hope they now go on and take the title.....

During the pre - match build up...... My G/F asked me about the meaning of all the banners that the Liverpool fans had......

Taking a deep breath..... I launched into the basics of the Hillsborough disaster.....

I quote.....

" Teelak.... Liverpool win no problem...... They have the ghosts of the 96 people helping them "

Clearly..... Never underestimate the power of ghosts........

Well done Liverpool

Great stuff from the 'poon.

I hope they go on to win it - if nothing else for Gerrard, to finally get the medal he deserves.

Liverpool 3 v City 2

Absolutely gutted! It was a terrific game though spoilt (for me!) by Clattenburg bottling the decision to send off the cheat Suarez and then missing the clear handball in the Liverpool box. Unfortunately big decisions like these have huge consequences. That said Liverpool were tremendous for the first 30 minutes - no other team this season has torn the City defence apart so easily.

Now City have to rely on Chelsea (or Palace?) taking points off Liverpool and City have to face another trip to the blue half of Merseyside !! I guess the fat Lady didn't sing yet..........

Having been many peoples favourites to lift the Premiership title, it seems that City have handed the baton to the winners of the Liverpool-Chelsea match (by all accounts, City were a bit lucky to even get a draw). I guess a draw against Chelsea would still leave Liverpool as favourites, whereas a win for either of them should be enough to get them over the winning line. At the same time, Arsenal have been given a helping hand to clinch 4th spot by Everton's surprise defeat at home to Crystal Palace

City were poor last night - maybe a hangover from the Liverpool defeat last Weekend. Though in fairness Sunderland played well - you wonder how they got into this mess? Seems as if nerves/pressure got the better of Everton though Palace have looked very good lately - what a job by Tony Pullis!

Maybe there are still some twists - Liverpool have to play Palace??

I think it's far more than Liverpool v Chelsea. Each of the top three has 4/5 games left and I wouldn't be surprised if all three dropped points elsewhere.

Need a good word in there also for the Cottagers vs the Spurs. It could happen easily IMO. Desperate teams have little time, and as we saw with Sunderland, unpredictable like a vicious dogs. :D

1-1 right before the half. I'm afraid I may jinx them if I follow too closely.

When the referee got in the way of a simple side pass by 'Dave' (very poor positioning by the ref, but par for the course) in the last few minutes, thus delivering the perfect pass for Sunderland to have an instant attack with a 3 against 1 run on goal, I was praying and hoping they wouldn't score - but more so to avert an almost inevitable riot than anything else! Of course, they failed. For me, that one incident summed up all that's needed to be said about the game.
