The fans rehearsing for today's match against Thonburi BG United at Fort Thanarat at 16:00 - looks like another carnival atmosphere is in store.

Even the mascot is getting into the party atmosphere (he seems to have lost the white sailboat from his back).

Hua Hin City 2 - 0 Thonburi BG United

A fairly easy game for Hua Hin today, but a few simple errors/loss of concentration could easily have cost them the match.

Of particular note today:

- Hua Hin's goalie was about 2 inches shorter today, having cut his mohecan off. He looked much smaller stood between the posts but fortunately it didn't detract from the final result.

- It must have been the largest crowd of the season. I think the management must have hired rent-a-crowd. About 5 minutes before the start the cheap seats opposite were filled with hundreds of people all dressed the same. I can't call them supporters because they resembled cardboard cut outs throughout the match and showed no enthusiasm whatsoever. About 10 minutes from the end, they all got up and left. I assume they were all escapees from the funny farm.

Hua Hin's 2 goals can be viewed here .

Photos from today's match can be viewed here . As usual, yours truly features in many of the photos :D .

Next home match at Kai Tanarat Stadium, Ampur Pranburi is vs Globlex F.C. on Sunday 18 Aug @ 1600hrs.

The team is currently in 7th position. Globlex F.C. are bottom of the league (7 points behind 2nd bottom), so it will hopefully be a cricket score - definitely worth the 50 Baht admission.

Not too bad a result with 5 mainstream players injured. I saw them training Saturday afternoon, and only recgnised 4 players. Here's hoping they're all fit for next weekend.

OK, not much of a goal fest, but another valuable 3 points that sees Hua Hin move up the league to 5th position. Probably the smallest crowd I've seen at Fort Thanarat, but still played in a carnival like atmosphere.

As usual, the game was not without incident. The first goal came from a penalty, awarded for an off the ball incident, However, Globalex were so appalled at the referee's decision that they walked off the field for over 30 minutes. It was just as well that it wasn't their ball, because I'm sure they'd have run home crying with it. The incident was the same as you see in the Premier League every week, but referees turn a blind eye. In this instance, the referee stood firm, and play restarted with Hua Hin scoring from the spot kick.

Many, many chances were created by Hua Hin, but the Globalex goalkeeper and woodwork kept the score at 1 - 0 until the 2nd was eventually scored in time added on.
