Hua Hin City 3 - 0 Singburi F.C.

Hua Hin got off to a flying start with an early headed goal, which came almost immedately after hitting the crossbar. I thought I was in for a goal fest, but Singburi gradually took over the play, although they only got close to scoring once when they hit the crossbar.

With a couple of minutes to go, Singburi had a player sent off for a double yellow card, and Hua Hin scored with a perfectly weighted free kick into the far corner of the goal from the restart.

As we entered injury time Hua Hin had a player go down. A Hua Hin player tried to boot the ball out of play, but a perfectly weighted mis-kick set the lone forward up. He took his opportunity well, beating 2 defenders and slotting the ball past the keeper for the third goal. The referee had no choice but to allow the goal, but booked the player for ungentlemanly conduct :? .

Although this was the smallest crowd I'd seen (poor away support), the game was again played in a carnival atmosphere, with people dancing throughout. The Farang support was the largest I'd seen - anybody else from the forum go?

There was one nasty moment when a couple of Singburi players talked the 4th official into speaking to the ref about an off the ball incident. This resulted in a Hua Hin player getting booked. This incenced the crowd, and the (Thai) lady sat directly in front of me threw an empty Singha bottle, which smashed in the running track and splintered onto the pitch. The policed moved in, and I felt uneasy being the closest Farang to the incident. Fortunately, they went for a Thai guy, who had absolutely nothing to do with. He's at every match, totally out of his mind, but harmless. The crowd actually jeered the police away, and no arrests were made.

A very enjoyable afternoon.

Next up at Fort Thanarat, Thonburi BG United on SATURDAY 3 Aug 13.

yes we were many farrang's today and it was nice with a victory after so many draw,it wasn't the best game I have seen, and the lack of the aways teams supporters was surprising, but maybe the long distance (330 km.) and sunday can explain that.

Funny about the "crazy" old chap that after the bottle throw he went away angry and throw his wick and shouting he wouldent se anymore and later he show up in the vip area. :D :D

I felt really sorry for him when the police (who couldn't have seen a thing) moved straight for him. He's there every match, and is always spaced out. He really puts everything into having a good time. He seems harmless to me.

I really wanted to shout, "It was her!" but that would have put the spotlight straight back on me. Throwing a glass bottle is bad enough, but on to a running track, with a lot of glass splinters going onto the pitch was shameful.

Where were you sat in relation to the bottle incident?

There's definitely no smuggling of the bottles - they are very open with it. Yesterday there were 2 large styrofoam boxes full and a couple of extra cardboard boxes. They even had a huge sack of ice.

If you look at the photo link I posted, I think those ladies and others sitting in that area were friends and family of the team. This makes her actions even worse IMHO.

Please be assured, even though I said I wanted to point that stupid woman out, I'm not daft enough to have done it.

There was one Thai gentleman who really tore her off a strip. This was happening while the police were looking at the wrong person. Also, a couple of the players seemed to know who was responsible (maybe because the other guy was giving her a bollocking), because they also came over and asked her to calm down.

No match this week, but the team only slipped one place to 7th, and that is only due to an inferior goal difference.
